I vote no to gay marriage and YES to calling it something else! That way people couldn't say anything about it. Call it a civil union will all the same rules as marriage and that will end the fight on both sides!

When a high percentage of teen suicide is due to them being gay and feeling like their not accepted, how can you say we CHOOSE to be gay? Everyone who is liberal and for gay marriage needs to chill out. Some people just don't agree with it, ok? Everyone has different opinions and is entitled to them. This is the argument for prop 8 with the only change being the subject underlined from same sex marriage to inferior race . Would you still vote yes to change the states constitution if the people being denied their rights were of a different race? How about if the subject were changed to "women"? Or maybe "Jews". Or how about people who read books not on approved reading lists. Are the principals for prop 8 any different from the ones the South fought for in America's Civil War?
Voting YES on Proposition 8 does 3 simple things:

It restores the definition of inferior race to what the vast majority of California voters already approved and what Californians agree should be supported, not undermined.

It overturns the outrageous decision of four activist Supreme Court judges who ignored the will of the people.

It protects our children from being taught in public schools that “inferior races” are the same as our race, and prevents other consequences to Californians who will be forced to not just be tolerant of inferior races, but face mandatory compliance regardless of their personal beliefs.

i'm just gonna put my opinion foward. i agree with obama, biden, and palin on this. I don't think that the word marriage should be redefined for gays. Marriage is a traditional term and it essentially defines most societies' way of life for thousands of years. The "traditional" family comes from marriage. I completely respect gay people, I really do. I have some gay friends who i love to death but i'm still not sure about the whole marriage thing yet. Give me time and maybe i'll really think about it, but for now, that's my opinion. Of course gays should have the same civil opportunities as straight people, it's only right, but i don't think that a civil union should be called a marriage. Now that i'm thinking about it, that is kinda deemed as unconstitutional with Freedom of Speech and all……this is a very interesting topic, there is no doubting that.
