Can She Even Sing????

As we mentioned earlier this month, Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls is set to return to Broadway. It will star Tony & Emmy nominee Oliver Platt in the lead role of Nathan Detroit.
And, it has just been announced that Lauren Graham, from Gilmore Girls, will star opposite Platt in the production.
But the real question is, can she even sing???
The show will start performances on February 3rd, 2009 and will open officially on March 1st.
Will U go watch?

Damn, homegirl got big.
ummmm. i would think if one is cast in a Broadway Musical, that they would be able to sing. Even when there is stunt casting on Broadway, it is always done with people who can sing. always. If she is playing the role opposite of Oliver Platt's Nathan Detriot, she would have to be able to sing, as the songs for that role aren't easy. Broadway producer's wouldn't jepordize the show, just to put a name into it. They only do that with straight plays…not musicals.

castinggirl- ever hear of a show called GREASE starring rosie odennel? i saw it with lucy lawless and guess what… they can't sing. there's also this show called SWEET CHARITY that christina applegate ruined bc she can't sing. i know you're a casting expert and everything… but lauren graham is going crap that show up. i was so excited for it b/c guys and dolls starring faith prince was the first show i ever saw on broadway and i looooved it. this show is going to SUCK.

The movie fairytales is reffering to is "because I said so" she did sing in that movie and was pretty good.

she did NOT get big, god. it's just a bad photo, she's wearing black and the background is black so with her arms out she looks wide. but look at her sides, she's still super slender, and always has been

FUCK, this really annoys me! she's sung on gilmore girls, and yeah, she can hold a tune, but she's really not great. and it SHITS me when celebrities get a role in a show just because their name is known, when there's HUNDREDS of incredibly talented women that would SLAUGHTER that role the way it's meant to be, but didn't get it because they hadn't gotten their break yet.
