Parole Officials Could Have Prevented Hudson Murders!!!
We know, we know.
Innocent until proven guilty.
But…..
The guy who likely killed Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and little nephew should have been behind bars for violating his probation earlier this summer. Instead, he was allowed to remain on the streets and…..
According to a report by the Associated Press, the #1 suspect, William Balfour, was arrested for drug possession in June while out on parole.
It's not clear why state officials didn't revoke his parole at that time.
Balfour was doing time in jail for - among other things - attempted murder.
Also, parole records indicate that Balfour missed a meeting with his parole agent on Friday, the day the Hudson murders took place.
As we've previously mentioned, he's being held by authorities but hasn't been charged (yet) with the Hudson killings.
We also don't understand why nothing was done about the previous threats he made against the Hudsons.
Our heart aches for poor Jennifer and her sister and her entire family.

Whether it was a spur of the moment thing or premeditated, regardless of whether he might have been in jail or not, at some point he would have been free and who says he wouldn't have done it then? sadly, this happens more often than it's reported. it seems shocking because it's a famous person that this happened to, but it's happened several times this year in just my state. sad, but true.
I'm sorry for the Hudson family, as someone who has been touched by murder myself, I truly know their pain. My best friend was murdered by her boyfriend (he shot her 27 times and will serve only 6 years for her brutal murder) He had an extensive criminal past, but she stayed with him because she loved him. He was violent against women, and was a convicted robber.
I think that this needs to serve as a lesson to women that men with criminal minds cannot be saved with love. This man who killed this family has a criminal mind, but he was invited into their lives and the outcome broke hearts and stole lives, all because a woman wanted love.
Please women, if a man has been behind bars, is behind bars, or there is evil inside of him, spare your love and the people you love and leave him alone. You cannot save a savage animal, no matter how sweet it may act.

I'm trying to figure out how the child's mother ended up with a man with such a bad criminal record…..I would not do that to my child….i want a role model for my child. I live in Chicago and work in a job that lets me know first hand that you CANNOT issue a parole warrant aka violate their parole unless it is a class x felony-like a murder. The jails here will tell you that flat out when you call them when someone is arrested for a felony while on parole. They are extremely overcrowded.
Also, everyone is blaming the sister for dating a man on parole for murder. The neighborhood in which she lives in is full of people that were in prison, get arrested daily, and are on parole for violent crimes. When you grow up around that it is different than it seems when you are an outsider looking at the whole situation. There are people that are violent and beat their girlfriends and children that have never been arrested. No one is to blame but him. Who would have expected that he could have done something this horrific. I am sure Jennifer's sister never imagined that this would have taken place.

Yeah, well first, don't confuse Probation and Parole. They are two very different things. Second, don't pass judgement until you've worked in that field. Both types of officers are overworked and underpaid. He missed an appointment, a warrant has to be issued if they don't know where he is, and that takes TIME. Also, first violations don't always result in a revokation. That's a Hollywood myth. This is the way the law works. If you want to change something, then talk to your government officials and make a REAL difference by asking them to fund the Probation and Parole departments better. Give them money for better oversight and therapeutic programming that would make a change in the offenders. It's the lack of funding and overload of cases that caused this to happen. Stop passing blame, because hindsight is always 20/20, and DO something about it.
It's so sad that we have such a broken system but the odds are the parole officer really couldn't have done anything to prevent this. Just because someone violates parole 1 or even a few times doesn't mean revocation.
