The Brit 'comedian' is on an fuck-up roll!
You can add 'job suspension for prank calling' to the recent list of idiocy that includes the MTV VMAs and showing up to the wrong red carpet event.
On October 18th, the 'comedian' and a popular BBC Late Night TV host, a guy named Jonathan Ross, left obscene messages on 78-year old Brit actor Andrew Sachs' answering machine as part of Brand's BBC radio show. One of the 'upsetting' things that Brand said to Sachs is that he slept with his granddaughter who's part of a burlesque troop called Satanic Sluts.
Well…..she is in a group called the Satanic Sluts!
The state-supported BBC has received more than 18,000 complaints about the horrible treatment of the senior thespian.
Both Brand and Ross have been suspended until further notice from their BBC jobs.
The Sachs granddaughter spoke out and said, "What's funny about humiliating a lovely old man who has never harmed anyone in his life? My grandfather is really upset and says he wants the whole situation to end."
A BBC suit said, "This is not a marginal case. It's clear from the views expressed by the public that this broadcast has caused severe offence and I share that view. This gross lapse of taste by the performers and the production team has angered licence payers."
Russell and Jonathan are lucky they weren't fired!

Perez, I don't understand your obvious dislike of Russell but you are entitled to it…however, this outrage is all for not. This is what Russell does, it is what he has always done. She knew he would talk about her when she jumped into bed with him, which she confirmed she did. Was it distasteful? Yes. But why are they now upset about it? The only innocent here is this Sach's guy. Fans of Russell and Jonathan expect this behavior and anyone who would get upset by it isn't listening to his show anyway.
Russell has now QUIT the show and it is a major blow for both radio and free speech. I will certainly miss the show but expect bigger and better things for Russell Brand.

As far as i know, they are both SUSPENDED at this time. I actually listened to the original show that day, and though it was hillarious. Also would like to add that this was 2 weeks ago, during the actual show only 2 persons reacted. Andrew Sachs is a 78 year old actor, and see no reason why he would be offended since he has apparently had sex in his own life. The other thing is that his grandaugther is a part of troup called "Satanic Sluts" therefore suggesting herself possiblity of having her sexuality in the eye of the media.
All this said, I think people should just stop with the moralising others just to make themselves feel better. Start with yourself before you judge!

I am British and this has been blown so out of proportion! Fair enough it was quite bad what they had said on Andrews answerphone HOWEVER, anyone that goes on Russells show or allows them to have their phone number knows what they are in for. He is a controversial comedian and that is what he is loved for and has a huge fan base because of the way he is.

Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais wrote and produced it then agreed to let an American version be made which Stephen and Ricky are executive producers. I think you will find some of the best comedy comes from Great Britain. Im not saying that I don't like American comedy, because of course I do, but I also think that British comedy is in a league of its own.
