CLICK HERE to read up on and donate to a very worthwhile cause!

"The Epilepsy Foundation is the national charitable organization committed to a better world for people living with epilepsy. Through research, education, advocacy, and services, we aim to prevent, control and cure epilepsy, and to ensure a positive quality of life for everyone living with epilepsy.

We use your donation to empower people with epilepsy and their families, to improve epilepsy prevention and treatment, to increase public awareness and reduce discrimination and stigma.

We use your donation to support clinical and behavioral research. And we help everyone touched by seizures access accurate and current information, and connect with support networks to ease the burden of daily life.

We use your donation to advocate in Congress, in the courts, in state legislatures and regulatory bodies for access to healthcare, protection of civil rights, job training, social security, and special education services. Because of you, fathers and mothers with epilepsy are finding stable employment, becoming more productive citizens, and are able to care for their families.

We transform people's lives everyday. And we need your help."

What a great cause! Except that they do not help the families or offer support. Sure you can donate, or sign up to work an event, but they never helped my family and I and we contacted them several times. Instead, I looked to the American Epilepsy Outreach Foundation. They actually help and communicate with you. The Epilepsy Foundation is a great organization, but I think the AEOF is much more caring and offers more support.

thanks for bringing this one up. I have epilepsy and though I'm one of the lucky ones, a lot of poor people suffer terribly, with up to twenty seizures a day. The Epilepsy Foundation in Aus has been a great help to me, they deserve all the support they can get.

Thanks so much to PerezHilton.com for posting the information about the Epilepsy Foundation — and thanks to everyone for responding so positively to our cause.
