Main Suspect in Hudson Murders Refuses Polygraph Test

Hiding something?
William Balfour, the convicted felon who's suspected of murdering Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew, has refused a polygraph examination, according to the Associated Press.
Someone close to the investigation said when detectives asked Balfour to take the polygraph test, he stopped cooperating and declined.
It's also not clear if Balfour has an attorney working on his behalf.
The former convict has yet to be officially charged with the Hudson murders.
Officials have also said that they don't believe anyone else was involved in the killings.

Oh, hell no. And I don't blame him. Polygrahs are very unreliable. The burden of proof is on them, not you. If you are completely innocent and fail it, you are just giving them more reasoning to start rubbing their hands together. I've never done anything majorly illegal, but if I was ever caught up in a situation like that, I would never agree to take a lie detector.

I don't believe in polygraphs.
They can be manipulated, at least, in my opinion. Many years ago, I volunteered for the Sheriff's Dept. in FL, as I was considering a career in Forensics. I had to go through background check, etc.
The poliygraph was my first time and when the Sergeant asked if I had molested any children, I lost my focus and thought about how my Uncle had molested me. The needle went up.
So he had to ask me another round of questions.
This time I focused and answered, passed the test.

I feel so so bad for that family. I have a 4 year old, I couldn't imagine. I'm single and I would never bring an ex con into my childs life. What was she thinking? It's horrible to say I told you so after the fact, I'm not. I just want mothers to learn from this, it may be the only good that comes out of this families horror. That man looks horrible and she now knows a lepard never changes his spots as they say.

It may or may not even be him; I also read that not only was he, but also Julia Hudson, and her brother, and her *other* Ex were ALL dealing crack…it could have even been a rival drug lord or something that did it as "payback", who knows for sure? It could be this guy, but may not necessarily be….a friend even surmised maybe it could even be him AND Julia….or even just her….there's just so many possibilities and no one has been formally charged yet…either way, it's such a tragedy and my prayers are with the family.

Serial killers have passed the polygraph test. People with top security clearance have failed it. Go to antipolygraph . org. I wouldn't take it either. It doesn't measure truth. It measures how much it bothers you to lie and your level of anxiety. Everybody wants to assume he did it but something is not right about Julia. He might know what happened but it doesn't mean he did it.
