Simon Cowell Wants to Bring Back Top of the Pops!
On Tuesday, the BBC announced that its holiday TV fixture, The Top of the Pops Christmas Special, won't be airing this year.
This got mini-mogul Simon Cowell all up in arms.
At a TV conference in London on Wednesday, Si said, "If the BBC wanted to do a deal, and I can get ITV to buy it and broadcast it, I'd put it on ITV… It's been a good year for music and I think it's part of the tradition. It's not as though people aren't interested in music at the moment. Maybe we could make it a bit more interesting."
Ah, there's that Cowell ego that we all love!

The race has tightened in part because of changes in a couple of important swing voting groups. Independents back Obama by 5 percentage points today, down from a 9-point edge last week. Similarly, among white Catholics, Obama held an 11-point edge over McCain last week and today they split 46-46.

Simon is right, there should be TOTP Christmas special- I was devastated when they stopped TOTP along with CD:UK - you just have to watch music channels now, and it isnt as exciting about seeing acts perform on shows.
Having the TOTP Christmas special was the one thing we had left - and the flipping BBC have gone all mental on us. What are they going to do next - cancel Red Nose Day?!
I miss TOTP - I feel privileged to be one of the last generations to have grown up watching it.
Not being british, but being anglophile when it comes to music and comedy I would love to see TOTP return. Hopefully I can download the show from the internet later if it doesn't get aired in America.

Top of the Pops…. I love my music but hardly ever watched it as it was a weir mix of everything. If Cowell gets his hand on it it will be pure pop, and at least won't be tryng to do a bit of everything so I'm sure it would be a success.
Plus would shut up the 'bring back TOP' cmpaigners.

omg! yes! TOTP is the shiz. I used to love that show. Last year they only aired a TOTP Christmas Special. They should at least keep the Chistmas Special!
He should deffo bring TOTP's back, ill miss it if its not on Christmas day, always one of them things you watch before Eastenders comes on! It was sad when it got taken off the air from the weekly schedule. The BBC seriously need to sort themselves out. I don't think ITV would mess it up, they done well with CD:UK till Ant and Dec left along with Cat Deeley

TOTP is a christmas tradition! We definitely need to see the Xmas no1 performed and the hits of the year! It's such a part of christmas day…right before dinner while i'm sitting down with a box of chocolates lol!

I really don't want the christmas special to go! As Mr Cowell said, it's tradition, me and my family always sit and watch it before eating our Christmas feast. It was bad enough getting rid of the weekly TOTP, but getting rid of the yearly Christmas one is a travesty!! I completely agree with Simon Cowell on this.
