I would like to point out that there is no direct comparison of gay people to Hitler in what that guy said. If you listen carefully, what he actually says is to compare the act of giving the right of marriage to homosexuals to the act of leaving the soul of Germany in the hands of Hitler. he is making the point that no good can come of it i.e. how he says that the clergy ignored the words of the brave priest and as a result the bombs fell on both Germany and the Church. He is more equating himself with the brave clergyman who dared to speak up to Hitler than equating homosexuals to Hitler and he is forewarning against what he sees as the next reason for destruction to be rained down upon humankind.
That all being said, I don't support the viewpoint but think people need to understand what is being said.

I always cringe at any sort of comparison of Hitler/Nazism to anything, because 99.9% of the time it's reaching and much better analogies can be made. I see what this gentleman was trying to say, but by the very nature of the comparison, not only did it come out in a garbled manner, it certainly is easy to misinterpret. It was just a generally poorly-worded speech and did more harm than help for him and his cause.
