Potters Wand Is Limp! Equus Gets Hit Hard

Things must be tough for Equus. Their ticket sales continue to decline!!!

Could people be getting tired of seeing Daniel Radcliffe's peen?

Does the show just suck?

Should we blame the economy?

Either way, the figures don't lie.

Last week the showbrought in a bit over $500,000 gross. That's more than $100,000 less than the week before!

Seats are not being filled up.

Only 60% of the theater's seats were sold for Equus last week.

Poor Radcliffe.

Maybe he should just stick to making Harry Potter flicks!

Or….next time, he should star in a musical.

Just because someone is naked doesn't mean people will turn out. If the show/play has a bad story or something people are not interested in, they won't show up. You should know that… nobody watched your VH1 specials or purchased any of your clothing.

how anyone could find this awful actor attractive is beyond me

  3. 3

    WOW!

  4. 4

Equus is a pretty shitty story. I'm surprised it sold even the tickets it did.

  5. 5

Say Harry Potter's Peter 5 times fast.

  6. 6

I am sure he is getting paid regardless. I do not feel sorry for him one bit.

  7. 7

I like Harry Potter so I tolerate his acting but other than that he's not very good. I've seen some of his movies……they suck!

You know what, Perez? Maybe you should go see the show before you judge it? I saw it in London and Daniel Radcliffe was amazing. And I wasn't a big fan of him before that.

  10. 10

How'd your clothing line do? How about your shitty rapping or your 'specials'? Oh, that's right, they SUCKED ASS, you fucking hypocrite.

MariaTwinkle is spot on. The show was amazing and Radcliffe, with or without exposed peen, was jaw droppingly brilliant — especially in the 2nd half…and I'm talking about his talent, not his anatomy. I was shocked that it doesn't seem to be a hit because it was on most critics 'must see' list. Yet the subject matter and the seriousness of it are off-putting to some. Not to me!

Re: playswithsquirrels – I AM SURE I SAW YOU ON AMERICAA'S MOST WANTED LAST WEEK!!!!!!!!!

  13. 13

Maybe if he walked around at attention with a British flag on it they would watch…

Re: lolkat – Yea seriously. I don't think the story is interesting or appealing at all.

  17. 17

    I saw the show.

It was staged wonderfully. Very intesnse. He is naked on stage for quite some time.

His weiner kinda sticks out straight like a hard-on, even though he is not erect.

I just came back from NYC and saw this show. Daniel was amazing and the show was great.

  19. 19

hey perez, you kept ejaculating over daniel radcliffe in equus for months and now you think he sucks? what happened? did he turn you down? did he tell you to go fuck yourself?

    you ARE a douchebag…

  20. 20

The show is amazing and so was daniel… you all should see it before you knock it… it is for sure the economy, why do you think broadway is loosing all its good shows? No one can afford it right now.

How is half a mill a week a failure? That's gotta be more than what it costs to stage the show, so it's turning a profit.

  22. 22

I did see this show a few weeks back on Broadway and I was totally blown away. There were times I laughed, times I cried and even one time I swear I forgot to breathe. This is a very disturbing, dark story-it's not for everyone. I left the theater completely moved and drained. Maybe in today's world we are just looking for "lighter" fare. BTW, I definitely was not disappointed by the package……….

  23. 23

how about they lower ticket prices so more people can affored it!

  24. 24

I don't think ppl really wanna see his pecker. it's kind of disturbing trying to look @ him naked whule watchinh harry potter.

    p.s lol my bad….

  26. 26

I want to go to see it but if the prices of the show weren't so freaking expensive, then maybe I could afford to go to the show! But for an airline ticket and hotel stay and a ticket… thats way to expensive. DAMN IT!

  27. 27

i saw this show in london. it was amazing. people don't appreciate theatre enough, especially straight theatre. see this show whether harry potter is in it or not (and on that point….he was VERY good).

  28. 28

People…it's the tourists…they call the shots and the call the shits…and they go see Phantom and Mamma Mia….this was a solid show and Daniel Radcliffe was the best thing in it, WITH his clothes on.
It's called a RECESSION!! Hello! Everything is hurting…

I saw this show a few weeks ago in New York. I thought it was brilliant. The people I went with and I loved it. Richard Griffiths and Daniel Radcliffe were awesome. They brought the characters to life. It's a different play. There's alot of monologue in the play. The set is simple. They would move white blocks around to make it look like different rooms of a building. The horse costumes were great. The play isn't for everyone. You have to be open to watch it. It's an intense play. There are alot of emotional scenes in the play. It's a very disturbing story. We got a good view of Daniel. Nobody had a better view then us that day.

how do those ticket sales compare to those in london when he was in the show? if the show did really well in london then it's either something to do with the audience in america or the economy. i saw the show twice in london in spring 07, both times the theater was packed and he did really well.

  31. 31

Who are we kidding 500,000,00 is good money! Hey even i'd pay to see his Dumble Dwarf! He's hot!

  32. 32

I saw this play in London and thought it was great, everything about it and I'm not a huge Daniel Radcliffe fan or anything.

  33. 33

obviously you haven't paid attention to any of the other grosses for Browadway. This time of year is always rough, and even the shows like Wicked and Jersey Boys dropped $100,000 in sales. Just wait until the tourists come in higher nmbers to NYC

  34. 34

    it's the economy.

  35. 35

    lets blame the economy

  36. 36

i loved equus. his performance was really powerful and him being naked had nothing to do with it, it was just great acting. andd he is super sexy :]

  37. 37

How are the other plays doing on Broadway? I'd be willing to bet that attendance is down for all of them and they're all only selling 60% or less of their seats. Movie attendance and retail sales are also abysmal. It's the economy, stupid!

i swear if it was in california id be there watchin it all the time! and playswithsquirrels dont hate on my love! if he was awful do u think he'd still be doin harry potter…. yeah thought so!!!

  39. 39

I'll tell you know Perez, I saw Equus last year whilst it was still showing in London$, and whilst I actually read the entire play in one night (it honestly isn't long & worth reading if you haven't read it already) I thought that Equus was amazing! We knew we were going to see Daniel naked, and I must say thinking back on the play I was impressed with Daniel's ability to still be a professional whilst on stage. It wasn't until he came back on stage for the encore where you could see he felt uncomfortable about having been embarrassed.

  40. 40

Equus was an amazing show! it's kinda a dark story so maybe that's turning people away…buttt Daniel's naked for like part of a scene and the girl actress is too…GO SEE IT!

  41. 41

equus doesn't have the mass appeal of big Broadway musicals, especially tourists. a lot of of my friends have seen equus and each and every one have said what a great production it is, and that daniel is fantastic. don't blame him for the box office. btw each time someone i know has gone to see it, they said it was sold out.
just because harry potter is naked doesn't mean that the show is going to be sold out, it's been playing for a few months now and that excitement has died down. go see it yourself before you jump to conclusions

  42. 42

I just saw the show on Broadway a few weeks ago and it was amazing. Daniel did a really great job, as did Richard Griffiths. The play was actually quite humorous, but overall I thought it was a great psychological drama.
Blame the fucking economy for bad ticket sales, most people aren't spending $116.50 per ticket for a show when they can't afford to heat their homes. Believe me if I hadn't bought my tickets in April, before the economy really went down the shitter, I wouldn't have spent it either.

  43. 43

    or maybe people are broke…?!
