David was brilliant as The Doctor! (He was pretty great in Cassanova too.) But as you recall at the end of the last season, due to an overload of energy, he duplicated himself and the Doubled Doctor is living in the parallel universe with Billie Piper's character, Rose. So I can see him dropping by once in a bit.
I wonder who the new Who will be?

I love the show to, just got into it with the incantation that began in 2004. Seasons one and 2 were the best imo, Rose, doc 9 (forgetting his name right now, guy who's on Heroes now) and episodes like "Blink: and who can forget first meeting Captain Jack in that 2 part "are you my mummy" storyline. Creepy crepy stuff. I agree, hope doc 11 is good. Also, while she may be an excellent actress, I'm glad the char played by Catherine Tate is gone.
I agree with another poster- I'm really happy that you're acknowledging his leave. DT was fantastic and it will be sad to see him go, but that's all a part of being the Doctor. I wouldn't want DT to be involved when Stephen Moffat takes over, anyway.
David Tennant is sex on a stick! I will miss his incredble presence on the best damn sci-fi show ever made…"The Impossible Planet/Satan Pitt " and "Midnight" were some of the highlights for me…David Tennent made geek chic!

14 million people watch this show in England and it has a strong following across the world. So people do watch it. And you wouldn't believe how many actors and actresses want to be in Dr Who. Its kind of the sci fi UK TV version of James Bond.
I'm going to miss David Tennant as the Doctor, he made geek really sexy. But I have to say I was expecting him to leave just not until the 2010 series was done, but he did say that the door wasn't completely closed. I can't wait for the Christmas special. I loved the last series and I thought Catherine Tate was an okay assistant especially with the jokes and banter between the Dr and Donna and her refusal to fall for him. I thought it was a fresh change from drooling girls with glazed over expressions.
2010 will be a new era in Doctor Who as Russell T Davies also steps down and Stephen Moffet takes the reins, which should be brilliant as he wrote 'Blink' and 'Midnight' and that creepy library 2 parter. Maybe Dr Who will be a darker show with Moffet in charge…
Sadly I think with out David and Russel I will not be watching Doctor Who anymore
