Yes, I woke up on Monday morning to find "Yes to Prop 8" all over my website! I was thinking "HELLO!!! I am against prop 8 why is this on my website!?!?"
So I called my webmaster and he said that google ads decides what ads will go on your website….so I didn't have a say in the ads. So I just took them down until after the election.

They allowed adverts on both sides. They didn't help either side really they profited though. I still dont understand how anyone can vote to ban someone else from getting married. Its not right and my heart goes out to everyone it effects

Marriage isn't a "right". If it were a "right" anyone could get married to anyone or anything. Not the case. Never will be.
Just keep in mind that no civil rights have been restricted. Domestic partnership laws have been re-tooled, all partner benefits exist under the current law.
This only involves the institution of Marriage.
Ask yourself if denying siblings, cousins, polygamists and farm animals from marrying constitutes hate.

This is stupid! I think people forget this country was founded on giving people rights. Not everyone may agree that same sex marriages should take place, but at the end of the day that's someone's right to get married, and should not be taken away!

This seems hypocritical, when the supreme court ruled in favor of Bush in 2004, you all called it an injustic that the court but their hands into political election… then the supreme court overruled the public voting that banned gay and lesbian marriage in California… and you all rejoiced… now the people have spoken AGAIN and voted prop 8 back into law (count this, 2 times it had to be voted in, TWICE!) and you're mad?

CA has domestic Partnership which entitles Homosexuals the same rights as a married couple. so health care, etc they dont have to worry about.
Think about it this way without marriage, the gay divorce rate will be great. With gays getting married we will just make divorce lawyers richer. Cause I have tons of gay friends and they are rarely faithful and will not stick with the same person for an extended amount of time. NOT all gays but, many!

I cannot believe google did this. For those of you commenting saying that you shouldn't blame this on google your wrong. I have a few websites I run which have Google Adsense on them. All of my sites I made sure to implement VOTE NO ON 8 and the last 2 days before election I magically had a crap load of Vote prop 8 ad's. This is highly offensive. I had at least 30 emails from my readers asking what was up with that? I had to physically take down my ads for the last few days. Google made a stupid move.

You are simply an advertiser in Google's ad network. You have terms of service you agreed to when you became an advertiser. If you want to blame Google for the vote, then you're stupider than your post indicated. Who decided Prop 8? Registered voters, aka…the people!
What you don't realize is that because some judge decided to overstep his boundaries, the people of California had to spend more money to make sure this didn't happen in their state. How much of that money could have been spent on other things?

Ok listen ENasty. I'm assuming you don't know how the google adsense works or your just a plain idiot. When you create an account you are able to BLOCK WHAT YOU DON'T WANT SHOWN AS ADS. Which I did. It also is picked up by your content of your site. That being sad yes you are 100% right…I'm within there contract, blahblahblah, but it is suppose to block all bullshit ad's I stated I did not want to appear. It has worked for me for years. It's IRONIC that it just randomly stopped working for Prop 8. I am merely a supporter to all my gay friends. My best friends just where married and I feel sorry for them. This doesn't affect me but I still care for my friends lives. Everyone should be equal. So don't go saying that you know why this happened. I'm not blaming google per say. I love there services. hold up, hold up… this article is kind of painting Google in a bad light (and I am against prop 8, btw). Google is just an advertising channel and BOTH SIDES used it to present their case. What this site owner didn't realize is that while you do have the choice to block certain advertisers (it's in place so you don't have to have your competitors' ads on your site), it still takes a bit to get the damn ads from showing up if it isn't set already. I know this is the digital age and all, but it still takes time for things to go through. A no on prop 8 ad would have had the same issue if the christian science monitor needed to take it down.
Yeah it is time to use goodsearch.com people, you can search and generate money for your charity, it rules.
