I'm far from all of you but I'm overwhelmed with emotion at this turnout of events. I burst out crying when I saw he had won… I can't believe it….
It says so much about the majority of your citizens whom I thought were going to vote McCain. I really thought the majority were racists and would not have allowed a black person in charge. I thought you as a country weren't ready for such a change. I'm sooooo happy I was wrong.

The African American community was so important in voting Obama into office, yet there were only a handful at the big gathering in Chicago tonight. Was that a special event to which only certain people were invited? That was weird!!!! Especially after all this talk about equality.

When McCain mentioned Obama in his speech tonight, there were boo's, but McCain did give a respectable speech as well, it was just those supporters in the crowd that had no respect.

I wasn't for obama but now that he's president it's refreshing to see someone smart. I hope he keeps his promise to be EVERYONE's president not just a liberal president. I like him more as president than as a candidate. I hope him and Mccain end up working toghether to better our country. I always thought they were both good men.

I can say this with great conviction being a military wife and watching my husband go to war and the stats on his field and others of his branch, including pre 9/11 when some fields were undermanned by 93% due to underfunding. Sure, it created a few jobs, it created a few things here and there, but under Clinton, we did NOT see the tax increase that Obama wants to tack onto a stimulus package either. Similar yes, same no.

Re: DaisyBaby – Well I know that in the older days without reliable transportation and such, after being elected, the president would have to leave the capital, go home, get all his things, come back, bring family, basically all his duties..get all affairs in order.. they gave them until March to do this because it would take them forever to just get home since we didn't have planes and things like that.. they moved up the date to Jan so we wouldn't have a "lame duck" pres for as long.. plus now we have planes and they have people to do everything for them.. but thats all i know..

He is the beginning of change. He's the positive energy we, the world, need. That's enough to get things started. He's no angel, nor will he do magic. It's the positivity that surrounds him that will bring about change.
