Another show is closing!

Broadway has been hit hard by the global financial crisis.

Show after show has been going under. And, now, producers for A Tale of Two Cities the musical just announced that the show will play its final performance in just over a week, on Sunday, November 16th.

Such a bummer, all these closings.

Who will be hit next????

who in their right mind would want to miss the 3,974th different production of this classic?

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Obama can save Broadway! He is the cure all for all that is wrong with us. No, this show sucked that is the main reason it is closing. I think that either Avenue Q or 13 will close soon. They are not doing well at the box office. 13 is cute, but not very sure who this show is intended for!

Since it's not January 20 2009 yet, I'll cast blame for this one on Bush. On January 21 2009, every fucking thing that goes wrong in this country will be blamed on Obama. If the price of milk goes up 10 cents, it's Obama's fault; if the cost of Starbucks double frap machiatto with whip goes up a quarter, it's Obama's fault; if the Dallas Cowboys lose a game, it's Obama's fault! You motherfuckers on the left will not feel the shitstorm that the right have been putting up with for everything that goes wrong. Wait and see…

This is so sad. Theatre is SO important to the world right now…I can't believe this is happening. I was making excuses thinking it was because of all the new shows coming in…it's way more than that.

Ya! The shows that are closing aren't closing b/c of the economy…they are closing because they only appeal to a certain demographic and have played themselves out (Legally Blonde, Spring Awakening) or in A Tale of Two Cities' case…they f'ing suck! This one was 3 hours of boring based on a boring ass book. Sorry, Dickens is blah, even set to music.

It's karma. The producers treated the staff like crap at the theatre they did a test run at and now it's come back to haunt them. We all knew that it wasn't Broadway caliber.
