California's Still Counting Ballots - Battle Against 8 NOT Over?!

Of the in-person votes cast on election day, the Proposition FOR H8te 'won' by roughly 506,000 votes.
But, on Wednesday, county officials were just beginning to tally at least 1.6 million leftover provisional and mail-in ballots across California.
According to the LA Times, counties have until Dec. 2 to count the votes, according to the secretary of state's office.
Some officials reportedly said they have more uncounted ballots than normal because of a surge in voting.
We're holding out hope.
We know a ton of people who cast absentee ballots and they voted NO to H8te!!!!

This battle will not be over until the populous is educated enough to relaize how discriminatory banning gay marriage is; marriage should be the union between 2 indiviuduals regardless of gender. The debate will continue between the California Supreme Court and the legislature (read propositions on the ballot) until HATE is squashed. We all have to continue to speak out and stay strong.

Sorry sweety, but no civil rights in the country have ever been voted on. The slaves weren't freed by a vote, Blacks weren't allowed to go to the same schools because of a vote, women weren't allowed to vote by a vote, etc… so give it a rest. Here is an idea. why don't you let us all vote on who YOU get to marry. Then see if it's ok to just sit tight and wait.
I had a provisional ballot so I'm praying it gets counted- I went to the place the county directed me to but my name as well as many other people who were in line with me weren't on the rosters- and I know all of them were talking about No on 8- let's pray they get counted.

I voted absentee! I would be pissed if my vote didn't count.
Look at Florida and Arizona… the ban on gay marriage passed by 62% in FL and 56% in AZ. In Arkansas Initiative 1 passed, banning the adoption by homosexuals. I don't see those other states being all up in arms about it. It's called accepting it then moving on. I've noticed that many democrats have had an issue with this.

The fact that Americans had to vote on whether or not other Americans had the right to marry whomever they love is sad and appalling. People don't wake up in the morning and "choose" to be gay, which includes all of the discrimination, judgment, and hate that goes along with it. Some people are born gay, just like some people are born straight. What's amazing to me is how many people on here say to just give up. What would have happened if African Americans had given up during the 60's? You have to fight for what you believe in no matter what it is. No matter what the opposition. There will always be people there to shoot down things they're uncomfortable with or things they don't understand and don't care to understand.
I also think it's interesting that Perez is being admonished for talking about something that is so important to him. It's a serious issue for him and millions of Americans and he gets to talk about it on HIS blog.
Lastly, I'm not exactly sure how McCain's loss on Tuesday is the same as people being discriminated against. If someone could (intelligently) explain how the two are related, I would appreciate it.
