Hair Revival to Hit Broadway

Looks like HAIR will be receiving a brand new 'do, because the critically acclaimed revival of the classic 1967 musical is now set to hit Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theater.
HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical has played to sold out audiences at Central Park's Delacorte Theater and was thrice extended.
The show closed in Central Park on Sunday September 14th, with Broadway previews to begin again February 13th.
Elizabeth I. McCann and The Public Theater - which hosted the original production - will produce the Broadway version, and will work alongside director Diane Paulus. In 1968 HAIR was the first off-Broadway production to make the move, and now the musical will repeat its history, although it is not yet known who from the original cast and crew will reappear on Broadway.
Here's hoping it has a long, beautiful run!

i hate that show. so tasteless.
Not borrrring, and n-o-t a yawner. Do you first buncha bloggers (except Harry, who seems clever enuf) know anything about Hair? Having seen it multiple times, it was one of the greatest plays…of its kind…ever! It might seem dated now but every song was fantastic! Don't knock this play!
Re: ohyeah_chelsea – Tasteless? What're you smoking?
Just got Rick Rolled!
GIVE THAT AWARD BACK YOU BITCH.
omgomgomg i know no one cares but my friend is audtioning for that musical
Re: LettyB – Re: mama of 2 – Later bitches
Yay for full frontal nudity!!
this is old news, Perez! get with the program
Best musical ever! There are so many awesome songs from that play. Not to mention in one scene the entire cast is naked. If you have never seen a production of this play check out the 1979 film version with Treat Williams, Beverly D'Angelo, John Savage and my quirky fave Annie Golden. Sure it's a little dated, but fuck it, it's still better than 95% of the movies you see today. I prefer the soundtrack from the film rather than the original Broadway production. You can sample the tracks at iTunes. Sodomyeeee, felatioooooh, cunniliguuuss e-verlasting-ing-ing… Come on, what tops that lyrically?
I saw the movie(clothed!) version of it years ago and I liked it!
Actually a great show… pretty hilarious and borders on inappropriate in a good way. Anyone from ages 16 to 60 would appreciate the cultural and political messages it represents and if not the music's fantastic.
Great so long as they don't have Harry "limp dick" Potter in this one.
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
