Sorry to say this but being GAY will NEVER be fully accepted! You will never have the right to be married, because marrigae was a union that was formed by what the Bible says,and obviously being Gay is NOT accepted by God! The Bible specifically says that Men shall not lay with Men. Also,there are other scriptures that say sodomy is a sin. Sorry to burst your bubble but if you don't want to live by what the bible says why would you want to be in a union that the bible and God doesn't approve of?

Not trying to be a jerk but Perez, the state voted last year AGAINST gay marriage, but the government overturned the vote which is bullshit and very anti-democratic and not an American thing to do, so when it came to a vote again, the people spoke AGAIN and said the same thing. California voters do not agree with gay marriage. It's a democracy, deal with it.
What if the voters had said yes to gay marriage but then the government overturned that? You'd be screaming your head off.
Actually the concept of marriage pre dates the made up bible and christianity by thousands of years, the word itself is all that we get from it (it is itself a translation of course). In one form or another Gays will be aloud a legal union in time, the passing of Prop 8 is just a delay, previous attempts passed with much bigger majorities. Much of Europe has gay marriage and nothing bad has come from it, those who voted yes to prop 8 are just social cowards.

Prop 8 was a referendum. Most governments are against that level of democracy because it would spell disaster. Ive little doubt that if we voted in that way on everything blacks would still be subject to jim crow laws, going to church would be compulsory and no one would want to pay any taxes, the country would be far from free, it would be worse than the Europe the original settlers were escaping from. The reason we have representation is to protect against such eventualities.

Men who want to have a sexual relationship with an unrelated woman is free to marry her — and vice versa. THIS is the definition of marriage.
If a man's sexual partner is other man, HE IS INELIGIBLE to get married, end of story. Hijacking another demographic's partnership traditions and changing it up to suit your own purposes is not right.

But can you understand that just because you disagree with a culture doesn't mean you should take away their rights? I would understand COMPLETELY if gay marriage somehow harmed you… but it does not.
