I just think it's hilarious that the Republicans are being incredibly more gracious about this than the Democrats. I've been called racist, ignorant, stupid, and several other crude and unnecessary names because I didn't vote for Obama. Seeing as I didn't vote for McCain either, I'd have to say that those names are entirely unjustified, but am I going to snap back and say awful things about those who did vote for Obama? No. That's what makes America amazing. We're allowed to have our own views, to speak up for what we believe in, and we should ALL be respected for them, even if someone disagrees. This isn't a time for us to be divided, especially not now that we have an inexperienced President who does need 100% of our support.

Actually it isn't shocking. Historically, conservatives tend to want to work together with liberals after the elections for the betterment of the nation as a whole. Unfortunately, the liberals only want to do this when their side wins. It is very sad. But how many liberals do you hear throwing temper tantrums and saying that if their candidate loses they will move from the US (which they never do)? I can't think of a single conservative who has said something like that.

It's not shocking at all. We are Americans first, not Republicans first. Unlike many people who wear "not my president" shirts and other ridiculous things to voice their opposition to Bush, we realize and accept that Obama is our president. We will support the office of the presidency, but we do not have to support the policies of the president. Republicans, in my experience, are always professional. i cannot say the same for Democrats I have encountered here at college.

I was a fellow McCain supporter. I don't think she finally "gets it" as many of you are saying. It is that this is the United States of America, we held our election and the people have spoken. By a small majority they elected Obama instead of McCain. Now we have to deal with it and get on with our lives. This is the statement I have made about this election on my official blog:
I did not vote for President-elect Obama because I hold different views on the type of change I would like to see in this nation than what he is proposing. I will say, this is an amazing day in American history. Today is a day that many have found restored feelings of hope and prosperity for this nation. African Americans can now look to their children and say without a doubt this is the land of the free. You can be anything you put your mind too. That is the victory that I see with this election. My hope is that in my lifetime I will be able to say the same to American daughters. America truly is a country ran of the people, by the people and for the people.
