Goldendoodle = the Obama's First Dog?!

President-elect Obama said in his election night speech, "Sasha and Malia, I love you both more than you can imagine. You have earned the puppy that is coming with us."

Well, it turns out that 10-year old Malia Obama has told her parents that she wants a Goldendoodle!
OMG!
Malia wants a Teddy Hilton to run around the White House lawn!!!
However, mommy Michelle told reporters in October that the family would select a rescue dog from a shelter.
Hope Michelle and Malia both get their way and find a Goldendoodle at a shelter.
But, any future first pet must be hypoallergenic because of Malia's allergies.
It would be so cool to see a relative of Teddy's at the White House!

I HOPE they get a dog from a shelter or rescue group. Doing rescue, and seeing HOW MANY dogs are being killed daily right now, I think it would send a bad message for them to buy a designer breed…. there are LOADS of hypo allergenic dogs, including teddy-like dogs and puppies in shelters.
Because of this sucky economy, the shelters are PACKED with dogs, many are just left behind in homes.

rescue dog, and she has allergies….perhaps a greyhound would be an excellent choice. they have no body oil, no smell, and people with allergies usually can tolerate one quite nicely.

I hope they do adopt from a shelter. It's ridiculous that you paid money for a mutt, Perez! "Designer Breeds" and the people that breed them make me want to vomit. The only reason to welp a litter of puppies is to better the breed, not to make up a fake breed. And when mixing breeds, there is no way to determine what traits they will have. You, Perez, are the reason there is an abundance of animals in rescues and shelters. I'm glad you love your dog, but wouldn't you have loved another mixed breed from a shelter just as much as you love Teddy?

OK, I think Teddy is cute but I don't understand this whole fad of shelling out hundreds of dollars for what used to be considered a garden variety mutt. Talk about a mega scam. Not to mention BUYING pets when there are so many homeless animals out there. Ugh! That being said, I'm glad the Obamas will be resucing a homeless puppy. That kind of responsible, honorable move befits them well! Hopefully they find a cute little Goldendoodle for Malia.

there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog dumbass. people are allergic mostly from dander and salvia. the "no shedding" doesnt really have anything to do with it. breeders tell you that to sell dogs. speaking of…breeders are evil and yay for michelle o.
