Teenage Girls Have Spoken, Twilight Trumps James Bond

Two weeks before the film even hits theaters, Twilight shows have already sold out.

According to Fandango, Twilight is accounting for two-thirds of all ticket sales and more than 100 premiere screenings have already sold out. This bodes well for the teen vampire love story and its burgeoning franchise.

The established James Bond franchise can't keep up. Quantum Solace is doing well overseas, but here in the States, with its premiere only 8 days away, the new 007 accounts for only 6% of Fandango sales.

It might even reflect a change in movie audiences, with most of Twilight's audience mostly comprised of teenage girls, as oppose to the young male demographic studios usually target with films such a Quantum Solace.

Inneresting!

Re: TheeDisneyWhore – Maybe with the tweens in USA not so much in the UK. Twilight isn't popular, some of my friends at college read the books but only after they found the movie trailer.
Bond is awesome but this one doesn't show the Americans in a good light, siding with the enemy and trying to bring James down a notch or two but M refuses to listen to them. Not an American-friendly film by any means. :P

The show is gay. End of. I've seen better storylines from years ago. The stupid cow is just copying off other people

Ironically, the man who auditioned for the most recent role of James Bond, HENRY CAVILL, was also the person everyone wanted to play Edward! The morons who make James Bond need to start appealing to a younger crowd, no one wants the ugly old guy they got!!!

Re: Mater Motley – Haha! Okay, I got this one! His hair is so big because when they become vampires they get all beautiful right? Their features change a bit and such, so maybe that includes the magical addition of big poofy hair!

Re: Beebles – I know what you mean about midnight showings. Sometimes it's great (Lord of the Rings audience was fantastic), but I have a feeling I shouldn't go to the midnight showing of this one. We girls/women tend to shriek … loudly. It would be worse on the ears than standing next to the speakers at a metal concert.

FANDANGO'S LINK TO LOOK UP MOVIE TIMES OR BUY TICKETS FOR QUANTUM DOESN'T WORK. THAT MIGHT EXPLAIN MORE THAN A LITTLE BIT OF IT.

    18. 118

I would guess that half the audience are teenagers and the other half are moms or women at least over 21!!! It's a fabulous love story, hot cast, what's not to like? The last few 007 movies were pretty blah.

Re: Hate Low Class People – If you had any business sense at all, you'd know that teen girls account for millions of dollars spent every year on movies, clothing, makeup, music, etc. They don't have to worry about paying the rent so they CAN spend, spend, spend.
