you guys can show up all you want..it's not going to do any good..the law has passed..the people have voted.
Get over yourselves..the people voted and dont want it..
man… maybe i should start protesting against obama now… seeing that i didn't get my way…
people voted.
the votes were counted.
this is the result.
GET OVER IT.
it's not going to change a thing.
go get a life & contribute to society,
instead of marching around like a bunch of idiots.
i'm against prop 8 too,
but this is just getting way out of hand.
just what are these rallies going to do? It was just voted on last week by the general population. If by some wild chance that the vote would be over ruled by the state senate/assembly, what would that say about the voting process? We are supposed to be a democracy. think about it, maybe McCain and others protest in states that he didn't get and maybe he can get the state governments to overturn the people's vote and have the electorial college to vote for him? It would basically be the same thing. The thing to do is see if and when it can be voted on again and go in and educate/talk/ see why certain parts of the population did not vote no. AND don't blame the mormons, they are only a small group amoung the millions that voted
OH MY GOD GET A LIFE
Re: mmssaa – No kidding! This issue was voted on….and won. Let it go and work on overturning it next time. How about all of us who didn't vote Obama get together and have a protest. IT'S NOT GONNA CHANGE ANYTHING…all we can do is hope people will see in the next 4 years that instead of being sheep and voting simply to have the first "african american" president (even though he is half white) they will get educated on the issues.
Gosh, I know it's unfair but 'Yes' ruled over 'No'.
I'm sure they won't do this voting crap again anytime soon,
So keep it in your pants.
YAWN!
Ummm, didn't half a MILLION people vote for that? What does that tell you? Get a DIFFERENT WORD other than marriage. Stop wasting all your time trying to use a hetero word. And the more you call everyone NAMES and call them haters, the more trouble you will have. You desperately want to act like you are just like heteros, but you aren't. You are biologically different. For years you have called them names like BREEDERS- which is disparaging to the PURPOSE of life itself. The number one drive in any living organism is reproduction. Now you want to be like "breeders" but you have angered and insulted them. So go find ANOTHER WORD and get hitched and then get divorced like the rest of us.
geezeeeee,if the homosexual communities want to do something good, why not go to orlando florida and join the search for caylee anthonys'body?
that might get yas some warm feelings…..
Yay another AIDS Festival!
Woooooooo! Sacramento! Yay!!
I'd go if I weren't busy =/
Love is love,stop the hate!
Look, the people have voted and the gays lost, and the majority is always right — just ask women, the blacks, the Jews, the Mexicans and every other group that had the good sense to shut up and sit down until we were good and ready to consider them equals to white male Christians (or as I call them, "God's truly chosen people.") Life isn't fair, folks, and inequality is just part of that reality.
I would've gone if I read this earlier, I don't live too far from the capitol building.
i got to stand on the balcony above the west steps in high school
) the last famous person to go on the balcony was queen elizabeth. and the janitor let me and a friend go out there.
sacramento bee said sacramento still has 40,000 absentee ballots to be counted and it could change the vote.
I love my gays but ya'll need to get over it. You're acting like spoiled children. Enough.
i to unfortuantely drive passed this, and there was no way there was even close to 4000 people… unless of course another 3000 people showed up after i drove by.
who wants to set up protests for Obama… i didnt vote for him… so instead of crying in my cereal and getting over it, id rather piss off the people in the neighborhood and tie up all the local police enforcement so they cant stop real crimes like the rapes that have been happening downtown… shameful
Good thing that we as a country didn't put woman's and black's civil rights up for vote with the general population. We may not have gotten equal rights with all of the bigots in this country.
I was in Sac for work during the election and nothing was going on. I thought, as the State Capital, the town would erupt for joy for Obama and disgust for Prop 8, yet nothing.
The ACLU/Equality California lawsuit is completely lacking in merit. It is as if their campaign just spent $40 million on a losing campaign opposing something they now say is a legal nullity. Their position is absurd, an insult to California voters and an attack on the initiative process itself.
Re: tinyhands10 – Welcome to America.
Soo funny that if prop 8 had not passed, you'd nto be hearing the squealing like you do that it did pass…
Soo hypocritical of Perez and his supporters.
I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how a lawfully voted on proposition that was voted on in one of the most liberal states in the country is somehow an 'injustice'. There are alot of laws and things that are legal/illegal that I wish would change but when its put up to a vote and the majority doesn't want it, then you don't really have a leg to stand on.
My mom lives there and she said there was like 20 people. Give it up!
How is it an injustice when it was passed by a majority vote?? I'm all for anyone getting married but you lost, the opposition to this bill did more to get it passed than you guys did.
