Madagascar 2 Is #1 - Family Flick Rules the Box Office Again!
Filed under: Film Flickers > Business Blitz
A family film, that DOESN'T belong to Disney, has claimed this weekend's top box office spot.
DreamWorks' Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa has debuted at #1 at the U.S. box office. By the end of today, Sunday, the movie is expected to bring home $62 million to Steven Spielberg and associates!
There's a load of money to make off kiddies and their parents as we've seen with the chihuahuas, Zefron and his HSM friends and now Madagascar!
Dayum!
The Paul Rudd/Stifler/McLovin flick Role Models rolls into the #2 position for this weekend's race. They're expected to add $19 million to Universal's bank account by the end of Sunday.
And rounding out the top three is High School Musical 3. Zefron's picture made another $9 million for the Mouse this weekend.
This fall movie going season has been all about the kiddies!

good…shoot that high school music crap movie to the number 3 spot. Im tired of seeing those no talent little kids all over the tv.
Well, not every movie can be about two gay cowboys humping each other.
I took my kids this weekend
i thought it was hilarious! its usually just a kiddy movie they enjoy, but the characters were nuts! that king julien and the crazy penguins. glad i took them to that instead of HSM.
Role Models was HYSTERICAL!! We saw Mad2, as well, and it was cute. But definitely go see Role Models, if you can! It was worth every cent!
i want to see this one, i heard its better than the first, which i didn't like that much, but its a good excuse when you have kids to go see all the cartoon movies…. we can't wait for BOLT!
