Cecilie [141] says: What about all the millions of straight couples who have anal sex? Why shouldnt this apply to them as well? If youre going to enforce this, you have to put cameras in every bedroom around the country.
Thou shall not judge! So in reality you are also going to hell for trying to do God's job. Have a nice trip!
      —————————————————–
First of all, if Christians are practicing anal sex, then they are false Christians; and if people who are not Christians are practicing anal sex, then they would not believe in your concept of Hell, so your point is kind of redundant.

Re: skachick7000 – THANK YOU for saying that. :]
I AM a mormon. Our Church leaders NEVER EVER told us to go out and put money out there for Prop 8 it was the people's decision NOT our churches.

Re: NoMoreMrNiceGay – Are you KIDDING ME. That is disgusting to me that you would post something completely untrue such as that. I am mormon my black friends ARE MORMONS. We send missionaries overseas to teach people in Africa, Asia, and all other continents. So don't you DARE say something that terrible would come from OUR book. How could anyone have taken anything away from them, if they never had it in the first place. (with exception to when 4 radical judges ignored the vote of the people in Prop 22, the first prop that decided this 8 years ago)
Blame that court my friend. They are the ones that gave it to you and then took it away by ignoring our constitution. It starts with WE THE PEOPLE, you idiots. The PEOPLE voted, now get over it.
Ok, no, actually just cry for the next 4 years and continue to alienate more of the country away from your cause. Because that is what you are doing by showing how truly INTOLERANT you really are.
Oh, and PS, You can't really believe that people care about your rights, when you are smearing their rights in the process. People voted and you guys are essentially attacking the decision. Well, sorry, people are more selfish than to give the shirt off of their backs and give it to you.

I could reply with God's word. But, somehow, I think it would be a waste, since you really aren't willing to listen anyhow.
Jesus, did speak of it. He referred to what the Old Testament said about it.
But, I will keep this to myself and pray. That is the best way to relieve such tension in these sorts of situations. To pray love over people.
Praying is not the least you can do, it is the most you can do.

It is an obligation on voters to be informed about the vote, and you would have to be living on Pluto not to know what you were voting for in this election, because the issue of confusion over the wording has been discussed and highlighted since the campaign began. I doubt it would be likely that people who are too lazy to compile the infomation they needed to vote, would drag their phat azzes off the sofa to make their way to the polling station. You are insulting the intelligence hundreds of the thousands of California voters.

Besides, if you were gay i think u would be pretty devo right now about this. So how about some consideration to those who most prob are COMPLETELY SAD about the fact they dont have this right. And i think perez posted this article to get this EXACT response from people. Its stiring the pot isnt it? And by ur response i think it really has stired u up. Many people who don't personally know any homos, have certainly been introduced to Perez Hilton. They were probably concerned that Perez would show up at the Court House with a goat and demand to be married. The GLBT community often drops by here to express their disappointment in Perez. He surely has not helped the cause by conducting himself as an abusive woman-hater. Voters are a fickle lot, and if they don't like your character, or if they don't like the character of a high-profile supporter, they will vote that way. That should be clear by the number of votes that Johnny "Rotten" McLame lost when he chose Sarah Praylin as his running mate. Perez has made many enemies in maintstream America, and I would be willing to bet that more than a few voters took the Yes side of Prop 8 just to retaliate against a cause that would benefit him.

Tsk Tsk. Your God was very clear in your Bible that man_must not_ lay with another_man _in_L_u_s_t. Does God know that you are promoting to oppose his Word? I am not saying there is not a Supreme Being, because we just don't know, but individuals such as yourself who want to pick and choose which "Christian" principles they will subscribe to, are not actually Christians. A Christian is, by definition, a follower and believer in God's Word, and that is to encompass all his "words" as his "final Word" on each subject". Maybe that is why Preachers of the Bible leave off the "s" at the end of "God's Word_S"; so that you will not be upheld to All of His Words. ~ Connect the hypocritical dots.

Ha Ha Perez ~ I cracked your code. I tried to post my comment at [320] several times today. As soon as I altered the wording, it passed through your "censoring program" immediately. I guess you didn't like that I was constantly repeating that the Bible states man_must not_ lay with another_man _in_L_u_s_t. Not good for you to be practicing censorship when you are the loudest to scream about your own right to free speech. Hippo Hippo Hypocrite.

I just put it out there for all the women who deserve recognition for all their hard work on missions. I know people think Mormons are cruel or evil but they are not. Are there a few nutballs? Of course but they are everywhere and in every religion. To put blame soley on Mormon's is wrong. Do I agree with their propaganda? No but they have a right to protest just like the gays do. To say that they shouln't is hypocritical. It wasn't just Mormon's voting and it isn't just Mormon's who think gay marriage is wrong. I personally don't care if the gays want to get married. It doesn't affect me in any way so I say let them. But others feel differently and they have every right to feel that way. And apparently, the majority won in California. So, the people spoke. C'est la vie…..

latinafantastica [203] says: gay kids always seem to be born into the most ignorant, least accepting families.
      —————————————————–
Homosexuality flows from an abnormality in brain functioning. To give you one simple example; Seratonin is a chemical in the brain; it is a mood chemical. When you are very happy, your brain naturally produces Seratonin. When you are very unhappy, depressed, your brain can become deficient in this necessary component for a healthy-functioning brain. Anti-depressants contain Seratonin. This is how anti-depressants alter a persons mood. For you to suggest that gay kids grow up in messed-up environments, is actually a root cause, because these children become deficient in various brain chemicals due to depression, etc., and chemical deficiencies in the brain can alter the transmitters and receptors, thereby sending false signals regarding anything from gender confusion, to more extreme signals such as pedophilia and psychopathy. Homosexuality is not a matter of choice, as society has been educated to believe. In fact, it flows from mental health disorders. The example above is only one of many, many conditions that can occur in the brain and affect natural, healthy brain activity.

Bowl of Fruit [231] says: give me a very good reason how same-sex marriage will affect ANYONE on this earth
      ——————————————————-
Depends on who you're asking; there isn't one universal reason. Believers in Christ are against it because the Bible preaches that. I have several reasons myself why I do not support it. Firstly, I don't think homosex is a life choice; it is an abnormality that flows from a brain malfunction [see my post at 330/page 4]. This could flow into a demand for equality by all sectors of the mentally-handicapped community; 3-way marriages, sibling marriages, parent/adult child marriages. Also, it is a reality that governments operate on a trickle-system; where offspring contribute to the tax base when their aging parents begin to draw on it. If you are paying spousal benefits in homosex marriages, there will be no offspring to replenish it, so the tax system would crash in subsequent generations. The primary reason for spousal benefits is because the female usually takes on the unpaid role of childcare, whereas homosex partners could both be lifetime wage-earners. I actually do support same gender unions. I believe all consenting adults are entitled to love and live with whoever they choose. They should not be classified as marriageable, because they cannot entirely come together as one. To come together as one, in the human being scheme of nature, would be to pro-create.

    34. 334

Sassy Girl [239] says: Don't bash Butterfly for her beliefs in God.
      ——————————————————
Firstly, you don't get to tell me what to do. And you are spinning what I said, because I never said that "all churches have preachers driving Cadillacs". I know that there are some Preachers that are true believers, but believing does not necessarily make it true. What I did say is that there is a lot of room for corruption when there is a secretive accounting of cash received, and that naturally would attract evil-doers, and considering that this all-knowing, all-powerful God that they worship lets babies suffer and human beings writhe in pain, it renders Christianity unbelievable to those of us who are not vulnerable or brainwashed. And I didn't bash butterfly, I questioned and disagreed. You are clearly one of those alarmists who argues, defends and accuses that which cannot be proven, just as you have done to me in accusing me of bashing.

rascal [245] says: God says to be fruitful and multipy. That means man and woman not woman and woman or man and man.
      —————————————————–
Yeah, the problem with that theory, is that not everyone believes in YOUR God and YOUR Bible. I do see a common denominator though, where Christians naturally speak of their religion as though everyone should subscribe to it, or they are wrong, even though your God cannot be proven. Those are the same brainwashing hallmarks of a cult. Clearly, Christians believe what is preached to them, without question, and without any proof. Blind followers.

Just an observation ~ I have read most of the posts in this article, and I have noticed that there are an awful lot who state that they were formerly Mormon, but have left the religion. GrooveMonkey [276] says: Where in the KJV does Jesus talk about Gay people?
      —————————————————–
The "alleged" original Bible was "supposedly" translated from Hebrew and Greek to Latin, English and then all the other languages. Conversions between languages are never fully descriptive or literal. There was a revision of the KJV in 1952, and it was reworked again in 1972. A New Revised Standard Version was released in 1990. There have been so many revisions and non-literal translations of this Book over so many thousands of years, it is difficult to understand why so many people would willingly accept the authenticity of every specific mention. As well, every group that has revised the various versions of the Bible, over time, all documented the revisions according to their combined "personal interpretations" of what was actually meant. I think it is safe to say that many people can look at the same thing, and have a different "interpretation" of what they think that is, so the Bible is really not "God's Word", as it is presented now. This is one of the reasons why there are so many different denominations of Christianity; because each faith "interprets" specific meanings differently. There is no singluar Bible, but rather, more like a revised screenplay by multiple editors.

It is neither fair nor accurate to refer to Perez Hilton as a "webjournalist", because he doesn't write the articles that he posts in this website. He steals the articles and photos from other gossip sites. You can googal any string of words from any of his articles, and you will find that they were posted, word-for-word, by other websites before the link to Perez. Perez doesn't even write the closing comments at the end of the articles. He is kind of making a laughing stalk of his readership, who post comments on the premise that Perez wrote the articles. They are in a good position to fight back, and I don't just mean with words. Their history is one of exile, battle and triumph. They have faced lynch mobs, arsonists, and government interference. They have always emerged on top.

I am Afro-American, and the recent finger-pointing and blame that has been directed against my ethnic group is painful. (I am a NYer, and therefore did not vote in the California election.) I hear your anger, but it should be directed at your legislators and representatives, not at religious entities.

I have already seen footage of a vandalized LDS church sign (spray-painted with grafitti), and if any more properties are disturbed, you can expect a swift and angry response.

By all means, march, make calls, and boycott businesses as you see fit, but do not disturb or vandalize church properties. You stand to lose sympathy and supporters if you do.

I am a Mormon and I am really upset about how the Mormons are being blamed for this. THE MORMON CHURCH DID NOT DONATE ANY MONEY for this cause, they encouraged the members to do so. I have loved you Perez but you have definately gone too far now, I am not going to your website any longer. Your site is for celebrity gossip not political issues!! Please check the issues about Mormons before you base your opinion on them, MOST OF THE CRAP PEREZ SAYS ABOUT THEM ARE LIES!!

rascal [338] says: Not sure if you know anything about Revelation.—————————————————-
I have read the Bible [the Generations were excruciatingly painful with all the begetting, and I find it very difficult to give credibility to a human body surviving for 700 years]. I did not read it as a worshipper, nor with a Preacher telling me what it says, but with an open mind and to decide for myself. You have no proof that the Bible is legitimate, only men telling you a tale that cannot be verified. Show me God. Prove that he is an entity. You can't, yet you believe. I am offended by Christians trying to cram their beliefs down everyone else's throats [I am not referring to you] especially when they are only repeating what they have been told by Preachers and re-writers of the Bible. You say things are coming true, but I will argue that coincidences can be found if you are looking for them.
      —————————————————-
I really don't mean to offend you. I am only guilty of doing my own thinking, and of imploring others to do the same. I don't let anyone or any religion tell me what it is that I think, and I only wish for vulnerable people to also find that within themselves.

I cannot believe that people are asking for gay equality one minute, then bashing another group of people for their beliefs the next. Until you do some research on the LDS church and know all of what we believe, maybe you shouldnt say anything at all. We do not condone abortion, we are not a cult, and the people of california are the ones that decided that gay marriage was not something that they wanted in their state. NOT THE MORMONS!!! I have always enjoyed Perez's site, but I can guarantee that with his closemindedness, and blaming my religion for the antigay bill passing I will not be back to this site!

mormons have just as much of a right to donate to a cause as hollywood actors. mormons are standing up for what they believe in too. i disagree with them but point your finger at all the idiots that were scared off by the misleading adds. we all have a responsibility to educate ourselves. read the props word for word and form your own opinions.

Funny that we're talking about a group of people who were widely criticized for encouraging polygamy (having multiple wives) for a large portion of their religous history…and many fundamentalist Mormons still secretly practice polygamy in parts of Utah, the Northern U.S., Canada…Where in the Constitution does it say freedom is only reserved for those with the pocketbook to support it?

Re: Pig_Nasty – Just wondering. Of course I believe that God is the reason that I am alive. I believe he gave me life. I don't want to sound mean but how do you think we were put on the earth?

Sweetie, I totally agree with your response to Butterfly! That bible won't do her any good at all. I'm not Christian, because I simply don't believe that a religion that preaches tolerance but practices hate and bigotry is a good way to live.

      Re: Bleezy

I actually ended up arguing this point with a friend of mine who is Christian, and he insisted that all men AREN'T created equal because the bible says so. I am no longer speaking to him because I can't stand that idea. I accept everyone with no prejudice, because that's how I was raised. I love my mom.

Re: Pig_Nasty – thats all you really are, a pig and a nasty pig at that. Get lost lowlife. I bet ur the kind of person who likes to tell people all your opinions because u think so highly of urself, and most of the time people never even asked for ur opinion but hell u'll butt in anyways because thats the kind of person u are. A very annoying conceited person. All your posts have had some form of "im so great and i will take the piss out of you while 'informing you' because i am all knowing and smart". I dont think u'd let anyone have their opinion without having a disagreement first would you? STFU

      —————————————————–
I don't think you sound mean at all. And I absolutely respect your right to choose your own faith and beliefs. My problem with that, is that I do not believe that Christians are exercising their own thoughts and beliefs, but rather, are accepting whatever they are told by the Christian heirarchy. You don't question the nonsense aspects. Seriously, do you really believe that a human body can naturally survive for 700 years? To answer your question about how I believe it is that we come to this earth; I don't claim to have the answers. I do not dispute the possibility of a supreme entity, however, I do not accept the Christian explanation of what that supreme entity is, because it is not sensible or proveable.

The hypocricy of Christians is overwhelming. You just finished saying that you accept everyone with no prejudice, after announcing that you are no longer speaking to your friend because that friend has a belief that is different from your own. Absolutely fucking ridiculous.
