Arnold 4 President!

With so many people and celebrities speaking out about the unfortunate results of the discriminatory Proposition 8, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is taking this time to speak out as well.
On Sunday, the Governator expressed hope that the California Supreme Court would overturn Prop H8te and allow gay marriages again.
Schwarzenegger said in an interview yesterday on CNN, "It's unfortunate, obviously, but it's not the end. I think that we will again maybe undo that, if the court is willing to do that, and then move forward from there and again lead in that area."
Looks like Arnold has slowly changed his opinion on gay marriage, as in past statements he stated that he believed the stupid idea that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. But, he had added that such important issues should be determined by the voters or the courts.
The governor has now publicly opposed Prop H8te and says to the backers of gay marriage, "I learned that you should never ever give up. . . . They should never give up. They should be on it and on it until they get it done."
And yet we're back to the old way of thinking. Back when if you recall, it was illegal for blacks and whites to marry.
Times change, but how long will it take for peoples' views on equal rights for all to change?????

Fuckin' douchbag veto that shit not to long ago, what changed his mind? Did blow him Perez?
marriage is between a man and a woman…sorry…stop being an ass kiss arnold
Ball gravy Alice!
.
.
HE LOOKS LIKE A DECORATOR IN FT LAUDERDALE I USED
ON MY PENTHOUSE!!!
.
wow, and i thought i was just an asshole!
I'm all for equal rights for everyone, but this is in no way the same as the ban on blacks and whites marrying. Interracial marriage doesn't involve redefining for the masses what constitutes a marriage.
Lets see, he said he would campaign against Prop 8 and didn't. Before when the legislature came out with laws giving gays rights he didn't sign them, now that republicans have taken a hit and his star isn't shining as bright….NOW he decides to come out and support us….gee, thanks.
I would guess that we are coming right along. The first vote was about 70% of the public not backing the idea of gay marriage. Now we have come down to 51% opposing. With more protests, walks and demonstrations, I feel that people will come around to realizing the importance of civil rights. Plus, with each comming election, more of the older people who have been raised and taught to not tolerate gay people will not be around to vote anymore, and their decendants, who have been raised in a more accepting world, will be at the ballots.
Both Barack Obama and John McCain believe that homosexuals need legal rights and protection, they just don't want to call it marriage. Our federal laws that give "married" couples rights should be changed to something different as marriage is really a religious belief and should be determined by the church. Our laws should then protect equal rights for all people wishing to enter an agreement to share their lives, possessions, and raise families.
Re: cybercybil – You said "I'm all for equal rights for everyone, but this is in no way the same as the ban on blacks and whites marrying. Interracial marriage doesn't involve redefining for the masses what constitutes a marriage. "

Actually at that point in time that is EXACTLY what it did.
Don't forget the boycott of California Musical Theater and the Music Circus in Sacramento. Their musical director a closet case Mormon named Scott Eckern
donated $1000 to deny gay people their rights.
BOYCOTT IS ON BEYATCHES….
Ha ! at least he is getting involved…
im sure he doesn't even care.
ARNOLD WILL SAY OR DO ANYTHING TO GET RE-ELECTED!
Re: Leona$ Gho$t –
Hi Bitchtress!
Arnold stole all of California's fucking money. He's just like Karl Rove and Scooter Libby.
Down the road and here comes Scooter
Barely free from the prosecutor
back to the brown brown grass of home.
He's a crook and a Republicunt, which means he really ain't doing shit for the gay people.
It's hard to argue with the people who voted for prop 8 because many of them base their vote on their religious beliefs. I'm a republican, but not a very religious person and I wholeheartedly support complete and total equal rights for homosexuals. I don't see anything legally or morally wrong with it, but many religious people do, and no matter how many facts you throw at them, they will continue to see things their way.
YOU SHOULD TALK MORE ABOUT YOUR CENSORSHIP YOU ASS PEREZ!
"Times change, but how long will it take for peoples' views on equal rights for all to change?????"
About as long as it's going to take for you to change YOUR views.
i pray tthat God will have his hand over our state and our country. And that if you have never expriened God that you all will through this stuggle over prop 8. Lets spread the love and have that cross over race, sexual orientation, gender, and religion.
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – HEY SEXY, LOVE THE AVATAR!
My goodness Perez you are really starting to sound more like an asshole everyday. While I am glad that Arnold supports gay marriage and hopefully it will be allowed one day. There is no reason to get in snipe little comments about marriage between man/woman being stupid. You really are a spiteful lil bastard sometimes.
A novel concept and not something I've ever heard proposed…why not leave marriage to the churches since we are talking about separation of church and state. If your church marries you, it has to be recognized by the state whether you are a gay or straight couple. That said, why is it when you go to the Justice of the Peace it can be considered "marriage" for a straight couple, and that is not a religious ceremony? (nor is a Las Vegas chapel, is it?) I think anyone, gay or straight, getting married at the courthouse should be considered asventering into a "civil union". Good luck to you in California. You have support all over the U.S.
He can't be president you idiot. He's not a natural born citizen. You are truly dumb.
Why even vote?
ARE YOU FUCKING RETARDED?
ARNIE JUST TOLD THE PRESS THAT HE BELIEVES THAT MARRIAGE SHOULD BE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN.
IF YOU SUPPORT ARNOLD, YOU SPORT THAT STATEMENT.
NEXT TIME PEREZ PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
I'm a Christian so I do believe that homosexuality is wrong (it says it plain and simple in the Bible) but I would never want to impose my religious beliefs on other ppl, let alone a whole country…gay marriage should be allowed since they are citizens and they pay taxes too so they should be treated like everyone else and be given the same rights
Re: harrybalsac – Where, where?
ahnold cant be prez u douche. hes not a naturalized born citizen
his comments are very generic…they could be pertaining to highway construction for all i know
Arnold is for gay marraige and Barack hates gay people
Re: Lillybelle – The dialogue of this needs to change, and the best way to change it is recognize marriage for what it is. A religious belief/institution. It's America and we should all have legal rights, so the word marriage being taken out and replaced with some sort of joint committment of two people should be replaced. PROBLEM SOLVED. And yes, if a church chooses to marry a gay couple, who are religious, under god, then the state should recognize that union of two people.
I am vehemently against changing the constitution to allow foreign born citizens to run for president. You MUST be born here to run this country!
I have no issues with Civil Unions but oppose marriage. Nor am I an overly religious person. Just think that since in the Bible it says marriage is between a man and a woman it should stay that way
The Supreme Court doesn't have the right to decide this issue. It's an issue for the voters to decide, whether you like the outcome or not. Allowing the courts to override the will of the people is not what this country was founded on.

Arnold is an ASS! he vetoed gay marriage legislation twice, he wanted to let" the people vote" well, they voted! happy now, Arnold?
A Republican Gov sides with gay rights while the weasily, smarmy, hypocritical demoncRATs in CA don't do a damn thing. Go Republicans! Screw the demoncRATs and Dumbama for not speaking out!
Re: cybercybil – That's what it did actually. African American citizens were not citizens at all for a long time and were seen as property. They were then given citizenship but with unequal benefits, such as interracial marriage. Now interracial couples are allowed to get married because people faught to say that citizenship should grant you the same rights as others regardless of race. We now need to fight for the homosexual community and recognize their rights as citizens.

Sorry Perez, as long as you have these religious fanatics out there it will be hard. The government will have to step in and over turn Prop 8!!!!
what is the point of having an open VOTE if the will of the people can be overturned ?!?!
can we overturn obama's election because mccain supporters are unhappy with the result ?!
get over it… it was voted by a majority…
can you go one day, just ONE day without this prop 8 stuff. It is not going to change overnight. Oh, and arnold was born in austria, he can't run for president.
Sorry Perez Arnold can't be President he's not a natural born American citizen
So i voted NO on PROP 8 because i think that everyone has the right to get married! It shouldnt matter whether "marriage" is between a man and a women, most marriages end in divorce and a lot of people get married for really stupid reasons, ie. money. Gay people want to get married because they ACTUALLY love each other! Wow wut a concept!
as much as I am against prop 8, HELL NO, on Arnold for prez, he is a horrible politician, and has been been very BAD for california.
Well then why in the hell do I live in the USA? If my vote can just be overturned by the government? I call BS.
Re: LadyKooL – Re: LadyKooL – THIS woman embodies everything I believe that religion should represent. Just because she doesn't agree with something not being okay from her religious teachings doesn't mean she will suppress rights from other people. And BTW, marriage is not only religious. People get married at citi hall all the time without religious involvement. There need not be any tie to the church where marriage is concerned for ANYONE. The benefits of marriage include tax breaks, pulling the plug situations, life insurance, etc. These are the rights people are looking for. They are NOT looking to get married by religious institutions.
Re: michihunt – It's been done many a time. I'm thinking it was prop 207, about illegals and healthcare, it was declared unconstitutional, so why did it get on the ballot in the firstplace.?????
Perez, you are such a hack. You steal everything you get from Daily Mail, CNN or MSN. That comment about black and white marriages was said by Arnold himself, so stop pretending like it was your own revelation.
DEATH TO ALL HOMOS!!
Re: uncle eldon –
If that's the case, then he would back the majority who voted for prop h8te to pass…
Either way, this is going to one day find itself in the supreme court… Society changes over time, attitudes change over time… it will be a reality soon, and the people against gay marriage will have to suck it up and get over it.
You all say that Perez is taking a stab at democracy for protesting this vote. However, protesting in and of itself is constitutional. FURTHERMORE, it is constitutional to try to overthrough propositions. Look at the BAN ON ALCOHOL!! THis was an AMENDMENT to the constitution that was later overthrown. No, everything Perez is doing is constitutional. What the courts need to decide is whether the notion of even being able to vote against a civil liberty goes against the very grain of the federal constitution. Which, in simple terms, would mean that if they find this to be the case, THIS ENTIRE VOTE IN THE FIRST PLACE WOULD BE CONSIDERED UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!
Here is what makes me mad. We voted. It passed. Now I voted for McCain and Obama got elected. Should we rally and have a court overturn the election? Come on deal with it! Seriously! I personally dont care if gays can marry or not. Either way I would be happy but changing what we voted for is outrageous!
Re: Isabella – Really?!?!?! Oh and you must believe Obama was born here too. LOL
Re: MP – I couldnt agree more. If the courts could change what voters vote in can we please change the election?
Not all Christians and Republicans are douchebags. There are some of us (granted, we're in the minority) who believe that two consenting adults should be allowed to marry if they choose, regardless of gender. Even my dad, who is a minister, believes that banning gay marriage is unconstitutional. I really hope that other Republicans will open their eyes and realize that discrimination is NOT okay.
Re: Obama says YES on 8 – AGREE 100%
Re: ashbert13 – You are right but it was voted for either way. Bring this to vote a million times before you get what you want but dont have a court over turn it. Come on.
I said it took hundreds of years for the prejudice against blacks to change! Besides, the gay hate and racism are two totally separate issues. Granted both are as stupid and wrong, but stop with this "oh black people have rights now, so we HAVE TO TOO". It took them so long and they fought so hard and lost lives, ok? Stop this comparison whining BS!!!
Arnold is a republican - just say "NO" when it comes to a presidential run.
Arnold can't ever be president - he's not a natural born citizen.
Re: Naughty_Baby_Harley – So, you're saying that people should have to put up with discrimination for hundreds of years, regardless of how wrong it is, simply because other people had to put up with it in the past, and the gays haven't paid their dues? That makes absolutely NO sense.
Accept civil unions instead of demanding marriage. I agree, as many who voted for Prop 8, that gays deserve equal protection, but don't call it "marriage". If you don't like our democracy, GET THE HELL OUT!
STOP SHOVING YOUR ALTERNATIVE LIFESTYLE ON US!!!!
is arnold a practicing catholic still? if he is then he is full of shizz coz you can't back gay marriage and abortion and be a catholic in good standing!
Yeah - right - if the Supreme Court even thinks about touching 8 - they will be impeached and fired - nice that the homo's who spent 40 million dollars - think it's now null and void - we here, we're hetrosexual YOU get used to it - have your civil unions - and shut up already. Yeah we saw the tolerance you people have - spitting, vandalism, destruction of PRIVATE property - "No to H8TE - YES on 8 - and it's NOT GOING ANYWHERE
sorry, the people have spoken
If Arnold can change so can many other people.
Those who don't, well they are the IDIOTS and BIGOTS.
The reality is that Prop8 will be overtuned just like Prop22.
And boy will I relish laughing at all the IDIOTS and BIGOTS here on this blog.
I mean hello, how can you explain the homophobes who come here and give Perez more and more "hits" - aka giving a GAY MAN even more $$$.
Too funny!
Hmmmm. You're not a republican and have been quite negatively outspoken about republicans and republican politics/politicians…now you say you want this one to be president? You HONESTLY want a republican president? Or not? Whose bandwagon are you on….do you swing left or right? You've been suckin Hussein Obama's dick until now. Hypocrite.
What about prop 4 that took rights out of patents hands? For someone they legally have to be responsible for? Maybe you folks in California give them their rights back and maybe they will give you what you want. There's always 2 side to every story so instead of just blaming the Mormon church, look for the real answers. Instead of calling these people every name you can think of.
i wish arnold could be president, it only he was born in the united states
HAHA Jules, you are a piece of work. Do you REALLY think that this is over? The beauty of the U.S. is that we can continually flag and bring back issues to ballot. Why do you think prop 8 existed in the first place? Marriage for all had been legalized, and your group came back, through a measure to the ballot, and now it has become illegal. Let me give your fuzzy head a brief glimpse of what this fortells: another measure will come up again. Another vote will be had. At one point, this will pass. Then you people will come back and try to change it again. Don't use this "the people have spoken" bit. People speak a lot. They will speak again. The vote has already decreased from the original 70 percent margin to 51% of the people's "voice" against gay marriage. There is a downward trend my dear. That means with a little time and patience (and oh, we do have the patience), we'll see this through. So don't go riding off into the sunset just yet!!!
Re: LadyKooL –
WOW, this is one of the best posts I've read here for a long time.
More people should be like you, and Obama, who may not agree that Marriage is for a man and a woman, but they definitely would not impose THEIR religious or other beliefs on others.
THANKS for your post!
Yea, and this jackass wants to raise the state sales tax by 1.5%, and extend the sales tax to services such as hair cuts & vet appointments……..why don't you talk about that?!?!
BTW, in LA we will be paying 10.5% sales tax if he gets his way making us tied for 1st place with Chicago for the highest sales taxes in the country.
Yes, Ashbert, since you voted for BO - the same people who helped us strike down gay
marriage, will also be the same people to vote it down AGAIN if your side is so idiotic, so
uneducated - to even tinker with it when BO is up for re-election. Prop 8 had much farther reach then 22 - it went ABOVE the Legislature, it went ABOVE the supreme court. It goes above any punk ass ACLU lawyer too. It is now law, and written into our constitution that marriage is between one man, one woman. 70% African Americans voted it down - maybe you should work on that demographic instead of me, because, the typical white American were all about supporting homo marriage, that does not surprise me. It's the white women of this country who are all about abortion too. The single most important issue for white American women is the ability for them to
kill their own children, OK, we get that! You ladies support partial birth abortion. Lovely!
It wasn't a gay marriage ban - let's get that straight - it was defining marriage between a
man and woman. The ACLU recently made this same “constitutional revision” claim in a nearly
identical matter in Oregon and it was unanimously rejected. I understand you hate
democracy, hate Christians, hate unborn Children - I get that - all from people
preaching tolerance. Yeah, we've been seeing all that tolerance this past weekend
picketing churches - No to H8te - YES on 8.
U know just because someone voted yes on prop 8 does not mean that they are bigots or hateful people. They just dont believe that same sex marriage is right. Thats their opinion. Stop trying to push your beliefs on someone and then call them bigots and a bunch of other names if they don't agree with you. They can get Domestic partnership anyway which ALMOST gives them all the rights of a married couple. They just don't have a piece of paper saying their man and man. So I should be able to marry my dog if I want to. What. Why not. I love her and she loves me and that is a violation of my civil rights. Who are they to tell me I can't marry my dog. Thats hateful against people who love and want to marry their dogs. Hateful ignorant people.Anyway the people decided on it and we said no. It went to a vote and people weren't comfortable with it so simmer down. And ya i did compare gay marriage to animal marriage.
Re: midwest girl – Yes, Midwest - I wasn't asking for permission - JUST notification. I'll never win this issue with peaceful sit ins. We'll only win by telling every young woman who thinks abortion is wonderful that I was once PRO CHOICE… that is until…I saw the sonogram and heard the fetal heartbeat. It also helped by talking to a dear friend who had two abortions look me square in the eye and tell me it was it was wrong an I was on my own on that issue - to avoid abortion at all costs cause it wrecks your life. It was hard seeing farm animals have more rights than the unborn - you win some, you lose some, something the radical homosexuals will never understand or embrace.
It's so frustrating to hear you comparing Black and White marriage with gay marriage. Gay marriage is completely disobeying God. Black and white marriage is not. There is absolutely NO comparison. NONE.
it is unfortunate, but in a democracy, majority rules, and the majority just voted to ban gay marriage. Continue to campaign, but I think sending this to the supreme court would be unfair to voters.
If the people of California do not want FAGS and LESBOS in marriages why don't they get the fug out of the USA. Buy a piece of Mexico and move there. You people are abnormal and need to understand that. Even animals know better than how you mental midgets understand it. Ask your mothers and fathers why they are not FAGS or LESBOS.
Re: LadyKooL – Yet they have no problem imposing anal sex and women with strap on's relying on artificial insemination on the MAJORITY? - we passed 8 because it would have NEVER stopped there - homosexuals are not happy UNLESS any and all opposition are eliminated - it's taught in school, and they defile churches demanding marriages - we are here, we are heterosexual let THEM deal with it - be sure not complain either Lady when they picket your church too or vandalize your car - if your for Homo marriage - you must be for any and all forms of marriage too ie: brothers, multiple partners, and animals
Re: Honeypott310 – Wanna get home from work on time or worship in peace? Be sure to make a note of that post if you live in SoCal - We'll be sure to AVOID those places - thanks for posting the time and locations - More ANGRY - Un-American assholes making a mockery of our election process - whoo hoo! PLEASE keep it up and providing the nasty protester Photo - ops - for the next No to H8te - YES on 8 campaign - you assholes really don't get it - do you?
Re: Heatherjane7 – You are a fucktard. First off, religion is a sham, second, the bible says a man lying with another man is an "abomination" which does not actually mean "completely morally wrong" as we think of it today. in the bible it means something more like "unusual or against custom" third, one verse above that it also says it's an abomination to eat shrimp. also mentioned as an abomination is wearing wool and linen at the same time. i bet you do those things, but like most religious idiots, you only know about the parts of the bible your thieving pastor has told you. How many studies have to come out to prove that religiosity and education/intelligence are inversely realated for you to realize you are a moron and your life is based on the greatest lie of this age?
Marriage is religious…the laws that govern the assest, families, etc of married couples is LEGAL….it's a separation between church and state, this is the issue. Marriage should be determined by the church and the government should determine the legal benefits to anyone who wants to committ their life to another HUMAN…You cannot compare it to ANIMALS OR INTERRACIAL marriages…first of all its silly, second of all interracial marriages don't have anything to do wtih gay marriage other than having to fight for their rights.
furthermore, religion has always been used to defend bigotry, which makes black/white marriage and gay marriage comparable. back then people said it was "unnatural" for races to mix, which is the same argument used today against gay marriage. The main point is that there is supposed to be SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE in this country and prop 8 is religion in government, pure and simple. If you want religion in your government, move to Iran.
Re: nina1016 – Do you have to be hateful?
Re: Stashy25 – to morons that have no idea what they're talking about, yes. i'm sad for them too, but that doesn't come across as easily in type
Jules, you seriously make me ill. When did I ever say that I supported partial birth abortion? UMMM RED HERRING, RED HERRING (this means throwing in something completely unrelated into a debate–I figured I would clarify things for your slow uptake). I think those things are foul. I myself would not have an abortion. I couldn't face it. You are so stereotypical. You think that just because I happen to support gay marriage, I agree with every other "leftist" movement in the country. I also don't like taxation–how about that, hmmm? I think voted no on EVERY SINGLE PROP except 4 and 8. Yes, I voted for Obama. Wasn't my first choice, but frankly, I didn't need McCain to fall over dead and hand the country over to a moose shooting, SAX wearing, wonky eye winking, talk down to us like we're kindergarteners preaching, holy war making, CRAZY PERSON. Africa is a continent–HAHA. That's who you'd have us run the country!!!! I find it hard to take you seriously knowing that.
I am against prop 8 because it is wrong not to let people love each other. Marriage is something the state handles. Religion can decorate it all they want, but the liscence you get is from the state. In fact, you can't get married in your own church without going to the state, but you can get married in the state without going to the church. Leave the church out of this! Always a pleasure!
Re: nina1016 – Well, I don't agree with the fact that your showing your frustration with ….nastiness. If they are ill informed, be patient and inform. It's obvious that I agree with your point about church and state, but you're not the angry person i would want lobbying for the cause. Do you see what I mean?
Re: Stashy25 – and that's exactly why i'm non-religious, i hate no one and that's all religion is, organized hate. and y am i being singled out for being "hateful" when all i said was fucktard yet there are countless racial and anti gay slurs on here? hmmm
Re: nina1016 – I'm picking you out obviously because you ahve a clear and very real sense of what is going on here. The other people who are being hateful and nasty really don't see the fine line being crossed. I just choose to pay attention to those who have …a sense.
Re: Stashy25 – i appreciate your comments. i know i am angry, that is why i didn't ultimately go into politics as i had planned when i was younger. i am simply too passionate (latin side) i am angry because i am in the most marginalized, discriminated against group left in this counrty-atheists. we have african-americans and even gay people as elected officials, but if someone were to admit to being atheist or even agnostic in their campaign it would flatline there. and despite the claims of fundamentalist whack-jobs, this country WAS NOT FOUNDED AS A CHRISTIAN NATION. Read article 11 of the treaty of tripoli.
Re: Stashy25 – Wow, you're good… Inflate someone's ego, make them feel special, and then brainwash. Repeat cycle on next unwitting victim. Does this work always or just part of the time?
Re: ashbert13 – Wow, I get too heated up here. Let me reclarify. I voted no on every single prop. For some reason I separate 4 and 8 because they are the two I felt were most idealistic. Alll the others were motions for taxes. I would NEVER vote yes on anything that would increase budget spending when our defecit is so large and our revenue can't even support our current costs. SAD DAY!!
get over it. you can't change anything for another 4 years!! all you are doing now is wasting tax payers (including yours)money.
you may as well through your wallet down the garbage disposal and save yourself the energy.
and arnold for president? i know its just the headline, but seriously?? he wasn't even born in this country.
Re: ashbert13 – I'm sorry you feel that way. Exactly where was I going to brainwash her seeing as I already agree with her? ….Is it not ok to point out someones specific nastiness and talk them out of handing it that way?…Well aren't I naughty
