Obama Fever

Everyone has Barack Obama fever these days!

Turns out Obama is the hottest name in the publishing world right now.

Just a weekend after winning the election, two books written by Obama have already sold millions and made it to the top of the lists.

Barack's The Audacity of Hope and Dreams from My Father have jumped to the number one and two spots respectively on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com.

And, just yesterday, The Audacity of Hope went out of stock on Amazon. Both the hardcover and paperback editions.

Even Sen. John McCain's home state of Arizona is seeing a rise in the number of Barack's book sales.

Demand has also risen for Change We Can Believe In, which is a collection of Obama's speeches and policy proposals.

And several books on Barack and his life are also selling well.

Seems people are interested in learning more about the soon to be President! Really really interested.

Re: DanielDax – So what would a mixed man's ethnicity/identity be exactly? I'm just curious. Do they have something they want to be callled? Seriously, I'm not attacking you, I am sincerely curious about this subject now.

And for the record LOADS of us could care less about color. I certainly don't.

Re: LusciousLiz – Once again, my FAVORITE Democrat!! How are you lady? And thanks, I think she's just jealous anyways, and looking to pick a fight for sure!! :)

    3. 203

I don't know what people of mixed ancestry would want to call themselves. I just believe it's up to them to decide what they prefer to be called. I know a lot of black/white people who call themselves Black, because that's how they and society view them, plus, unless they look like Mariah Carey, they probably couldn't get away with saying they're White. But there are some people of mixed ancestry whom are just as comfortable as saying, "well, I'm 1/4 this, 1/8 this, etc..", because, face it, you can't be of vague ethnicity and not have people asking you all the time, "what are you?"

Re: loribaby1 – Right….let's see how "white" you categorize the next half-black kid your daughter brings home to dinner. hope your color-blindness holds up under that test.

Re: Sassy Girl – "They" probably would want to be called Americans…?

Re: Sassy Girl – she is not everyone can be as pretty as you baby girl…I'm doing good…about to go to work…have a good day sweets!

Re: DanielDax – So I guess they aren't looking for a "new" ethnic group, they just decide independently whether they want to be referred to as black or white. I was just wondering if there was something I missed! :)

And butt out, douchbag Jackie. You are unaware, as usual.

Re: WhowouldJackiedo – I know people aren't used to beautiful women having brains too….it's sad but it does happen

    10. 210

I guess I worded it wrong when I said they were looking for a new identity. I think it would be foolish to come up with new race categorizations for every possible race mixture, even though some ethnicities have come up with their own unofficial labels (i.e. Blatinos, LOL). I honestly haven't heard what Obama labels himself. He made a joke about being a mutt, but I would assume he identifies more with being Black. He married a Black woman, his kids look Black..I can't imagine him wanting to be called anything else.

yes there are many talented canadians in hollywood.. Im just talking about pam hey if canada will take her back im sure we can work on throwing in Matt Damon as well You know a good BOGO deal. I've been to canada, I lived in wa state for a long time and we visited often. It is indeed beautiful. I still think however i choose the usa over canada. It can't always be peace and rainbows and when the shit hits the fan i want to be in a country that has the Best military.

Bareback O'bama was quoted yesterday as saying he want a "Nazi-like security force." Now what does that tell you people? We are doomed I tell you, doomed!!

    13. 213

Bareback O'Bama stated yesterday that he wants a "Nazi-like security force." Now what the hell does that tell you people? We are doomed I tell you, doomed. One should never ever, EVER refer to the Nazi's when you are to be the next President of the United States. Check out Foxnews.com if you don't believe me!!

      Re: god_quit_being_a_sheep
We could go back and forth on this one.
Yeah, your military is bigger and you are the wife of a military so I can understand your pride.
Canada has 32 million while you guys have 320 million or so people, but we have enough of a military to do what we enjoy doing best, peacekeeping. Our military is also in Afghanistan and after the U.S. practically bowed out for Iraq, we are the ones that are holding the burden of Afghanistan the most, the other countries have a lot less military there than Canada does.
Again, you guys love to look down your noses at us but we don't care because we are not interested in bombing the world and it is because of the U.S. that we went into Afghanistan and Canada has lost a lot of military.
Thank God we said no thanks to Iraq but wow your Bush hated us for doing that.

    17. 217

I've read his books before he got elected…and that caused me not to vote for him. Glad people are deciding to learn about how much of an ass he is. By the way…Obama supporters, how do you all feel about the speech he made 3 days ago saying he's going to artifically inflate gas prices to $6 a gallon to force people to use alternative fuels. Was THAT the change you all voted for??

Re: LusciousLiz – You are TOO SWEET!! Have a good day at work my friend!!!

    19. 219

Re: DanielDax – Your probably right! Yeah, based on what you had said before, I thought there was something I was missing!!!
At the end of the day, we're all just people, and we're all in this old boat together!! :)

    20. 220

Re: Kryszero – Don't you just love "change"???? ;)

    21. 221

      Re: Sassy Girl
No, I am an American who voted for Obama. You say, "we SHOULD question our leaders" - well, how is making assumptions questioning?!?! And how is making racist comments productive? Another sign of ignorance, in my opinion. I'm not saying you don't have the right to question him. Lord knows I was angered by Bush's administration, but how is a complete LACK of support for the man we elected (by a MAJORITY, I might add) going to look to the rest of the world. A LOT of people around the world rejoiced when he was elected, mostly because they believe Obama can help repair relations with the rest of the world. They believed that they would not have had the same opportunity with McCain. If McCain would have won, I would have been upset, but I also would NOT have judged him before he even gets a chance to start his Presidency. If after a couple years Obama has screwed things up (which I don't believe he will) then you can "hold him accountable" all you want, but spewing rumors and assumptions before he's even done ONE thing as President does no one any good! It's not about "bowing down and not speaking", it's about giving someone a chance to prove themselves - and the poorly judged comments that some of you are posting only show your ignorance.

    22. 222

All you haters need to get over it! McCain lost the election (by a landslide) cuz republicans suck ass. Or perhaps you thought Sarah Palin was really qualified to take over once McCain croaks (which will happen in a year or two -tops). For God's sake, read a newspaper once in while instead of spending all your time on here and give the president the respect he deserves. Losers!

    23. 223

      Re: Tree hugger

Thank you! I felt all alone here. I was hoping that since the election was over, we would finally stop hearing all the trumped-up lies and rumors coming from the other side, but I guess I was wrong. I am geniunely excited to see what he can do and I am sure that there will be a lot of eating crow in the days to come after he gets to take office.

Re: sweetpiece – President Obama. See? I said it. Rolls right off the tongue…like "We're fucked!" and "Game over, that muslim junkie got in the white house."

    27. 227

and let's not even start on that beast he is married to….that is one scary looking tranny!

    28. 228

These dipshits won't post what I wrote. TWICE. Go figure.

    29. 229

"Even Sen. John McCain's home state of Arizona is seeing a rise in the number of Barack's book sales."

Just ’cause he's from here doesnt mean there arent ANY Dems here.

    30. 230

Re: Antoinette64 – ok i have to correct you on this statement you made about canada holding the burden of afghanistan (a place my husband was deployed to by the way) The usa has had 32,500 troops in place canada has about 2,500.. France has contributed more troops than canada.. I hardly think 2,500 canadians are "holding the burden"… What the hell do you think our people are doing? And it's kinda pompous of you to disregard all the other countries that are also helping out. More than 12 have contributed troops to the fight as well as the afghan army that has about 76,000 people. Just thought id let you know..

    31. 231

Re: Jodman – I replied to this post, mulitple times. THEY WILL NOT POST IT. I am livid, and to you I am sorry that you've not been given the opportunity to hear my views.

Go figure. As usual, jackass liberal site want us quieted. :(

Re: sweetpiece – Never. He is the Manchurian Candidate and is going to sell us down the fucking river.

    33. 233

Re: Sassy Girl – That happened to me 2 or 3 times last week too. You must have shaken it loose though because today mine are going up fast.

    34. 234

Re: toni bee – I think I might have "clogged them up" with my brilliance!!! Just kidding, just kidding. Irritates the hell out of me though, especially when you know they are PURPOSELY not posting something, UGH!

    35. 235

Re: Sperm-Dumpster – all you ignorant motherfuckers would say stupid shit like this. How many times when the pledge of allegiance was being played at school did you feel like just saying "screw it" and not putting your hand over your heart. It doesn't mean you are a communist, it just means you don't feel like doing that shit that particular day! If he does fail to save our country, then I guess he could be called George W Bush, eh?

    36. 236

Re: noseyrosey – That's a pretty weak defense, don't you think? He's not a kid at school, is he? Just saying!

    37. 237

      Re: noseyrosey – I agree
