The horror musical starring Paris Hilton - Repo! The Genetic Opera - is faring well in box offices.

The film is held its own this past weekend, debuting with $6,450 per screen average in 8 theaters - one of the highest this weekend!

The film took in $51,600 for Fri-Sun.

Not bad!

      for in an independent film with a limited release its not so bad… plus the director/writer are going on a 7 day tour to promote it n screen it and a few of those shows are sold out… so thats not so bad… and paris is barely in it… its an interesting film for a selective group of people… it wasnt meant to make money… im sure Darren is still swimming in money form the SAW franchise.

      First of all, she is not the star of the musical, she has a bit part in it. Secondly, there are many fans of this musical who have waited for it to come to theatres, and who don't really care whether she's in this or not.
      I highly doubt that people went out to see it because of her, given that she has no singing or acting talent. Gee, she has the role of a spoiled brat who is barely dressed, what a departure from her real life!

      This movie is very, very good, one of the most original movies to come out in years and I know it's cool to not like Paris Hilton but honestly, if no one knew she was in the movie, you probably wouldn't have recognized her…It's good to see something like this come out and not so Hollywood-ized, true, it's not for the majority but those people are too busy being entertained by the Matt Damon Trilogys anyway…there is def. an audience for this movie….well, the cool ones anyway…

      Most of the people that saw this movie, didn't see it because of her. I saw it twice because it's a good fucking movie, and didn't use Paris as a judgment.

      All the actors and actresses did an amazing job. Can't forget about them, either.

      This movie was incredible! I saw it Friday night at the Angelika in NYC and it was phenomenal!
      I was sketic of Paris' performance but she did a very well job (partly because she DOES play an heiress, or a potential onme at that!)

      I brought along two friends who thought the movie was going to suck and they loved it.

      Repo! freaking made my YEAR! (and I've had a very good year as far as entertainment wise)

      GO AND SEE REPO!

      Gotta love mario's spindoctering by making a movie that only made $56, 000 over three days sound like a hit. Avril lavigne was offered the staring role but turned it down, I guarantee hilton would have called it a flop, yah for propaganda!

      It was in 8 theaters. Not 200, not 2000, EIGHT. With everyone wanting it to flop because Paris Hilton was in it. $56k in 3 days IS an accomplishment in those circumstances.

      Hey Perez,
      I just want to say quickly that I saw this movie a month ago at a movie festival in Toronto, and I thought it was Fantastic!!
      Paris did a good job too. I mean, yes she was essentially acting as herself, but at the same time, there was a character that she had that was NOTHING like her character in real life. Not to mention, her voice was pretty good too. Overall, the movie was well worth the drive to T.O.
      Can't wait for it to come out on DVD!
