Researchers Find A New Old Pyramid

Researchers have discovered some old stuff in Egypt.
Like, some really old stuff.
Egypt's culture minister - Faruq Hosni - announced today, Tuesday, that a 4,300-year-old pyramid had been uncovered at the Saqqara necropolis outside Cairo. The ancient burial place dates back to 2,700 BC and is dominated by the first ever step-pyramid, constructed in honor of King Zoser.
They just discovered a new (old) pyramid????
Though the pyramid now only stands 16 feet, it is believed that when it was constucted, it rose about 50 feet in the air.
That's huge!
And they didn't have cranes or anything!
The base of the pyramid was buired nearly 70 feet underground, where a burial doorway was also found.
Researchers believe the pyramid was constructed for Queen Sesheshet, the mother of King Teti, who founded the 6th Dynasty of Egypt's Old Kingdom.
Amazing!
Its treasures, however, had been looted by tomb raiders.
Hope it wasn't cursed!

I was just in Egypt in September and saw the pyramids and sphinx, and they were spectacular and amazing….and *a lot* bigger up close in real life than you'd think! (The Eiffel Tower was the same way!)
They have discovered the plot for the next Indiana Jones movie, hooray!

Yes, they did.
But not in the Old Kingdom (the period where the Pyramids were built.)

For the "Old People smell" comment, have you ever smelled a mummified Egyptian mummy? Yeah, they used herbs and spices and to honest, they don't smell like a decomposing body. And there has only been one curse ever found on a tomb and it wasn't King Tutankhamun's tomb. It was found on a sarcophagus that basically stated "let he who disturbs my tomb have his head popped off like a bird". Pretty vivid, but the only curse found to this date.
I believe it is the Greek spelling of Djoser as Zoser. Kind of like how they have distorted the names of the gods and goddesses and Kufu is known as Cheops. Those silly Greeks.
I hope whatever was inside WAS cursed.
