Whoopi's Prepares For Viewless Future

Aside from co-hosting The View and having her own radio show, Whoopi Goldberg is expanding her mini media empire.

Whoopi has just signed a new development deal with Discovery Emerging Networks.

Using her production company, Whoop Inc, the talented and opinionated Goldberg - along with her partner Tom Leonardis - will be in charge of developing series for the Investigation Discovery and Science Channel.

Which means that we'll soon see at least one of Whoopi and Tom's ideas take off.

Whoopi said, "Since I'm really curious about the world, what better place for Tom and me to exercise this interest than at Discovery?"

    Intelligent people watch Discovery Channels. Not everybody is an imbecile who enjoy killing their brain cells watching nonsense such as The Hills or Gossip Girl, Sorry. I personally enjoy Discovery Health, but that is probably because I am in the medical career.

    I love it when you put down something that millions and millions of people agree is a good thing by liking something you either don't know enough about or something you have decided is not worth liking. Please. You are not the be all and end all of what is interesting. That said, since I don't have cable, I don't get Discovery Channel but have watched it. I think they have consistently high quality programs on it. Anyone else think so?
