Seriously, Elizabitch Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd should try reading some facts before spilling lies from their mouth!!!!!
As we mentioned before, Elizabitch LIED to the entire country when she said that California's Proposition 8, to ban gay marriages, would mean that religious leaders could go to jail for refusing to perform a same sex marriage.
NOT TRUE!
That then caused the "god worshiping" Sherri to make her own comments. She said, "I don't want to know that my pastor — because, you know, the church is preaching against homosexuality, and I don't want to know that my pastor could be jailed."
Well, we guess God doesn't want gay couples that love each other to get married, but he's ok with Sherri sleeping around before getting married right? Oh, and we guess God is ok with Sherri having had abortions in the past as well!
And it seems like Elizabitch and Sherri are still trying to brainwash people into thinking something false about Proposition 8 as they continue to bring up the lie that it affects religious groups.
Oh, and Elizabitch has said many times already that Proposition 8 passed by a majority of 62%. Someone should tell her to fact check. According to the California Secretary of State's office, the prop for hate passed with only 52.3% of the vote.
At least Whoopi pointed out the obvious and said, "It is unfortunate that people used not-honest things to go about it, because if the fear — if people put fear into people and made them believe things that weren't true, that's not how you want somebody to vote. You want them to vote the truth, and you want them to vote their heart."

What Elisabeth says is really quite true… the church will get sued for not performing services for gays and lesbians. The mormom church openly excepts gays and lesbians, but has strict rules about who can and can't marry in the tabernacle. If a prop were to pass allowing gays to marry, but the Mormon's don't let them enter the tabernacle, some gay or lesbian couple would feel discrimated against and cause a rukus for not allowing them the same rights as straight people.
I'm all for civil unions - for ANYONE who lives together. Gays, lesbians, and even Joe Schmo down the street who lives with his cousin, Bob. If you are in a stable situation of any kind and share household costs with another person, you should be allowed the same benefits as a married persons… but if you want the same "treatment" as straight couples and will impose on people's religious beliefs to get it… that isn't right.

Dude! The state of Cali voted - it failed to pass - in this country the majority rules! So try again later.
My productive comment to the discussion is that ANY "wedding" official should be able to pick and choose who they want to marry for any reason they damn well want. Who the frig cares? All officiants have EQUAL RIGHTS TOO, YA KNOW to accept or deny any "clients".
That's why priests/pastors/ministers/non-denomenational officiants/what have you are there, to gauge whether the couple is "ready" for marriage, and then lead them through the process and at the end, marry the two of them.
If gays get refused by someone just because they're gay, then that's just tough luck. Take your business elsewhere and stop thinking that you can shove your lifestyle down our throats so much that we'll start to like it. It's just not sexy enough.

Let me repeat this again,the church can not be obligated to marry anyone if they dont want to .they have no requirements to ,and while anyone can sue anyone for anything,they are exempt from having to marry anyone they dont want,so not one law suit has gone that way, So why would the republican and mormon zealots be lying,because they wanted to scare people and nothing scares uneducated minorities more then gay people forcing marriage in their make-shift evengelical churches. So again lets repeat ,no chruch can be forced to marry anyone they dont want to ,lots of higher income episcopalin churches and jewish temples are willing to marry gays ,and so are the courts.No church has to marry anyone they dont want to,and never has.

Nobody is saying that homos can't co-habitate, love and fornicate with other consenting adult homos, and having a marriage ceremony changes nothing about that relationship. Maybe you would like to accept 3-way marriages, 4-way marriages, sibling marriages, parent/adult child marriages. Bullshit ~ there is only one marriage in the human being scheme, and that is the marriage of one man and one woman who are pro-creating. Anyway, the whole purpose of marriage is to legitimize the offspring of that union.
