Ready for a gay superhero?
Showtime is currently working on an hour long project from comic book icon Stan Lee based on the book Hero by Perry Moore. An openly gay film producer and novelist, Moore wrote Hero after finding queer characters in comic books largely mistreated and wanted to present a more positive image.
Besides struggling to hide his superhero identity, the book's main character, Thom Creed, must also hide his sexual orientation.
Moore is penning the script and also executive producing the project.
Stan Lee is perfect to helm the project as his credits include several comic book related works such as Sci-Fi Channel's mock reality TV Who Wants To Be a Superhero?, along with Thor and a sequel to the blockbuster Iron Man.

whoa whoa whoa, a GAY super hero. now you're pushin' it fella. everyone knows the villian is gay. either a dyke whitch, step mom persona with a deep voice or a high pitched,flambouyantly costumed gay guy with daddy issues. but to turn the tables, you would really be starting something in the comic book world that would ulitmately destroy the whole dynamics. for shame and i wont stand for it. you can take away our marriage liscences but NOT our super heros, thats where i draw the line.

Sounds like someone stole this idea from Queer as Folk - Michael and Justin penned a gay comic book that was going to be turned into a movie - remember? That being said, I think it's great and I will definitely watch!

That book is actually really good! It is one of my favorites!
It isn't like this is the first gay superhero, though it's cool Stan Lee is involved. There's Rage from QAF, not to mention Batwoman is now into chicks ;p

I bet he wears pink tights. His "special powers" will be the abilty to fist the ass's of the bad guys. His Gay Super Hero Car will shaped like a cock. When he turns into Fag Man, his voice will go up 3 octaves. He will arrest the bad guys AND rearrange your furniture. Instead of changing in a phone booth, HE WILL COME OUT OF A CLOSET!!!!!!!
