lets just give then 20 billion. I was thinking, why not give everyone in this country a million bucks or so! Just make everyone rich. We could never pay it off. But who cares, we can never pay off this mess anyway.

  11. 11

Re: mama of 2 – I know the rest of the joke.

    it's really sad.

  17. 17

oh detroit, as a michigan resident… im pretty sure detroit could have used this bailout like 15 years ago. better late than never.

  18. 18

Hate to say it, but "Welcome to Michigan"…The ENTIRE country is bad, but things are worse here than ANYWHERE…

  19. 19

Once the banks got a piece of the pie - everyone wants in. You know this is only the beginning of the asking.

  20. midi says – reply to this

    20

even the rich in detroit are hurting. upper level management is going down the drain.

  21. 21

Re: mollymouse – the companies and everyone asking for billions in bail out money should be publically bitch slapped and send on their merry way…

  22. 22

    Re: mollymouse – *sent*

  23. 23

    bail me out.

  24. Fuego says – reply to this

    24

Maybe if Detroit could make a decent product they wouldn't need a bail out.

  25. 25

This is getting ridiculous. When's it going to end?

  26. 26

    NO MORE BAILOUTS

If you cant run your business properly….you should go down in flames!!!

  27. 27

Re: LettyB – Its Your ecomnomy toooo douche

  28. 28

Im poor….why doesnt the government bail me out….

  29. 29

They shouldn't be asking the goverment for $ ask the freaking OIL COMPANYS the have $ coming out of their asses.

  30. 30

Please…. if that's the case, then there are alot more cities than Detroit that need bailouts…. whatever….

  31. MP says – reply to this

    31

It pains me to say this because I'm a fiscal conservative, but the government has to LOAN them the money (not give). They employ 10% of the American workforce. You can't have them going belly up…it will lead to a depression. That said, it's their own damn fault for getting into this position. They run a welfare state.

  32. 32

Kwame did not fuck detroits, you morons.

  33. 33

Can the government bail me out???

  34. 34

Who's paying for the bailout? You? Me?
    *
    *
Sorry make better choices in the future
    *
    *
    Don't worry though……
    *
    *
BOOOOOOOBAMA'S on his way and the dumbacrats will rejoice and spend ALL YOUR MONEY
    *
    *

  35. 35

wtf!?!? That's ridiculous. I'm sorry but I say that nobody should be bailed out. If a company like GM for example is going bankrupt….let them! People will find new jobs. And it will still be cheaper for the government to assist those that need it after losing their jobs rather than paying multi-million dollar bailouts. These companies/cities obviously don't know how to manage money so it's just going to happen again and again. They are just prolonging the inevitable. So stupid!

And, why should companies/cities that obviously failed miserably be rewarded, while the companies that aren't in any financial difficulties get nothing?!?! It's not fair. Instead, the government should lower the taxes/fees it costs for companies to run. For example, employers pay huge amounts for payroll/ workman's comp. etc. Lower that! Then all companies would make more money and the govn't in the long run would save money because they don't have to bailout the idiots that havn't managed their money properly!

  36. 36

Fuck that shit! Obama best be getting them checks out to us first.

  37. 37

Re: Parramore – NOT AS BAD AS YOURS SORRY! WE ARE FEELING THE PINCH A LITTLE! I JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE SO THERE! AND I "CAN" AFFORD IT!

  38. 38

Re: mama of 2 – sorry mama :( …..i had no idea
    .
    .
……these bailouts are making my head spin though…..giving ourselves cash advances just doesn't make any sense to me……i am a retard when it comes to math…..but, i don't trust the people in charge of this bullshit either…..aargh!

  39. 39

    Re: LettyB – !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. 40

NO MORE BAILOUTS! Manage your money or take a fall!

  41. 41

They need that money for more crack!

  42. Locke says – reply to this

    42

    Hey Perez,

You worship Obama's dick, but he supports these bail outs. I have always said that there is no fundamental difference between the democrats and the GOP when it comes to the serious problems that face our country. Obama is controlled by the banks. You voted for Obama knowing he supported bail outs.

  43. 43

Uh…hello!!! Haven't you guys seen what the ex-mayor did to that place!!! It needs a helping hand….

Detroit is a beautiful city, not a shithole….Once they get a REAL mayor in there who actually cares about the city, and NOT himself It will thrive!!!

  44. 44

    Re: star_lite57

None of what you are saying makes any sense.

    Poor Detroit. :(
    My favorite city…

  45. 45

Re: LettyB – economics is a global thing retard….you will feel it….especially if these fuckers from Ford dont get bailed out….oh you will feel it

  46. 46

    Re: SarzZz
The even more fucked up part is that Obama has "handpicked" Gov. Jennifer Gran"mole" to be one of his economic advisors! What a laugh!! We have the 50th worst economy in the nation and he picks our Governor….ROTFLMAO!!!! Help me I'm dying!!!

  47. 47

Why is everyone asking for "bailouts" for everything now? Wtf is this? Is the government made of money? Why does a city need a "bailout"? This is getting ridiculous!

  48. 48

Re: Parramore – YES WE WILL! YOU ASS! I NEVER SAID WE WOULDN'T! BUT NO WHERE NEAR WHAT YOU ARE FEELING! OUR ECONOMY IS VERY STRONG AND YES WE WILL BE IN A RECESSION, AGAIN, NOT AS BAD AS YOU! DO YOU ACTUALLY READ WHAT I WRITE!

  49. 49

i would like to request a 100 thousand dollar bailout *slow blink*

  50. 50

Our gov is the poorest of all, -10 trillion. FUCK DETRIOT, MAKE SOME SMALL CHEAP 50MPG CARS PLEASE.

  51. 51

    Re: mollymouse

And what did you spend your economic stimulus check (from President BUSH) on??? Last time I checked he was a REPUBLICAN.

  52. 52

    Re: HeatherEW

Detroit is the armpit of America

  53. 53

Its flippin Kwame's fault. I cannot believe they aren't making him pay it ALL back. The news was saying how much money he has in his bank acct. You think that since he fucked Detroit over they would make him pay out of his own damn bank accout. stupid fucks!

  54. 54

    wtf

  55. 55

Re: lala7558 – Ahahaha, I couldn't have said it better! Granholm has driven this state into the ground and Obama thinks she's a great fit for his cabinet. We Are All Fucked!

  56. 56

The problem isn't just the immediate jobs that will be lost if the companies go under.
To that I say good riddance to bad business.
I'm sorry but it's called Capitalism & you made a better more reasonable and more competitive product you'd be doing better in business

The bigger problem is actually in the pensions that, if I remember correctly, will still have to be payed even if the companies dry up. Unions are great but a balance of power is even better.

  57. 57

NO MONEY for the car guys they have to learn fast that car workers are grossly onerpaid for what they do;; stop buliding gas guzzlers and live within your means like we do!!!!!!!

  58. 58

Good thing Obama is in Office he'll gladly take your tax dollars to bail these stpid fucks out hahaha

  59. Fuego says – reply to this

    59

    Re: robynrobyn
We have to bail them out. it will cost 60,000+ jobs directly related to car manufacturing and another 60,000+ jobs related to parts or dealerships. Likely they will write it into the loan that they will have to make better, fuel efficient cars and hopefully pave the way for more progressive technology.

  60. 60

Here's the thing: GM, Ford and Chrysler goes down and the whole fucking country goes down with us. These bailouts deal with this whole thing called "long term thinking." Although, yeah, it sucks in the short run, in the long run, American industry WILL collapse with the automotive industry. It's incredibly important that we help out the automotive industry.

Bailout is the wrong term, by the way. This is more of a loan, one that GM & co can and will pay back.

  61. 61

How about this. If the Lions win a game, we'll consider it.

  62. 62

I'm from D-town. Let's be clear I know I'm not asking for a bail-out, that's the auo companies. Dunno how I feel about that one.

  63. ivvoi says – reply to this

    63

    I LOVE MY CITY.

  64. 64

No body can afford bailouts But Detroit in known as the motor city and the cart industry has gone to shit! I live in MI near Detroit and if people saw what I see on a daily basis they would be ANGRY SAD and DISGUSTED like I am that this can happen in the U.S.A! Detroit has gone to hell there are abandoned burned out houses buildings lots all over the place. Crackheads Prostitutes Murder thats reality every morning for the people of The motor city. We got rid of a nasty corrupt governor who raped our city and perverted the goverment with stripper and sex text scandals millions spent on one damn man! Its sooooo fucking sad

  65. 65

I meant mayor not governor although i woulndt be shocked to find the governor is corrupt too

  66. 66

Ron Paul was right. We aren't even close to being done with paying for this bail out. The bali out isn't even going to work but we will still have to pay the debt. Ron Paul 2012 for real change; as in, change in yo' pockets, bitches. With anyone else you will only find lint.

  67. 67

I live in MI near Detroit and if people saw what I see on a daily basis they would be ANGRY SAD and DISGUSTED

    Re: LaMisma

And yet you stupid fucks continue to vote consistently the same way. I used to live in Detroit, Michigan among other various places in Michigan and it was bad even when I lived there over 10 years ago. Look how many times corrupt ass Coleman Young got re-elected. You get the government you vote for, fools. Michigan gets what it deserves. WE all will in the end.

  68. 68

Re: SarzZz – Yeah I agree, I'm in Lansing mich and yeah its pretty bad here too, not just the D, it's basically the entire state, please don't rip on us, not our fault, for one ALL the pep's buying foreign cars fucked us pretty good, crappy govenor that made it even worse, I had to go to FIA today and the place was PACKED!!!! It was VERY depressing, people talking about being homeless, losing their homes, pretty horrible, this entire country, and yes ALL citizens who bring in under 50-60,000 a yr need some MAJOR help, we can't even get jobs w/ a college degree!!!!! I can't even find a job and I've sunken down to applying at fast food places, anyone who lives here in mich knows it's bad in fact I'm pretty sure we have THE highest unemployment rate in the country rt now…….I'd leave if i could, but hey its pretty bad everywhere here, let's pray that Obama really gets us going in a better direction, at least he knows what it was like to be poor, and bi-racial and there's so soooo much of that here esp!!!!!!!

  69. 69

Re: robynrobyn – He's NOT in office yet, you're the dumb ass, think people's suffering is funny? If you lived here you wouldn't be laughing……

  70. 70

and i'm sure obama is going to giv it to them! YES HE CAN!

  71. 71

yes, let the big 3 fail and see where this country ends up. Our unemployment rate is through the roof, lets add thousands and thousands more to that. Jobs are hard to come by here in Michigan, so all these factory workers who are being laid off and will potentially lose their jobs all together will have nowhere to go - they could very well move out of state and take jobs in your state that you may need. So this post needs to clarify a little better that it's needed for GM, Ford and Chrysler not for just the D and that it's a loan, not a gift. We are all struggling in the US but Michigan has gotten very bad and it's time we get a little bit of a helping hand in order to stay afloat to keep the rest of the country afloat.
And BTW - Detroit is a beautiful city, yes it has it's rough areas but what city doesn't? I may not be from Detroit (actually Ann Arbor, which is 40 or so miles away) but it's hurtful the way other states/cities portray us. We do the best we can with what we have but sometimes it's not enough.
