Cash Cow Obama Gives Staffers Extra Moolah

President-Elect Barack Obama raised more than $600 million for his presidential bid and, now, post-election it looks like he still has some major cash in the bank.

According to new reports, his hard working campaign staff is getting a nice bonus from boss man Obama.

Happy holidays to them!

They'll be getting a check equal to a month's worth of salary in the mail!

A former 'low-level' Obama campaign worker told the NY Daily News, "It was totally unexpected, and you can't believe how helpful this is with the holidays coming. A lot of people thought they were going to be broke and would have to try to find a job in this rotten economy. It's a huge help."

Furthermore, it's reported that staffers also have the option of keeping their campaign-issued computers and BlackBerrys (but must pay income tax on the items if they do so).

We're hopeful that President-Elect Obama will run the country as well as he ran his campaign!

P.S. Are U happy that your campaign contributions are possibly being spent this way????

Yes.He ran the best most effective campaign in history and that he wants to thank everyone who helped is great. Thank you goes a long long way in this age of the me me me syndrome.
The blatantly racist comments here are so red neck it shames your country.Go grow up.Most of the world is dark skinned , not white. Nothing worse in world than racist bigots ranting mindlessly on about skin colors.Pathetic.

I would much rather him give to the people who helped him than him keep it himself. He is being very generous. McCain would have kept that shit and given his people nothing, same with Bush.

How come Obanna did not give the extra money to FOOD BANKS, or to help clean up SLUMS, or reduce the NATIONAL DEBT.
NO!!!!! that is the way OBANNA is. The poor THINK he going to help them, but the BOY will take his marching orders from the RICH Democraps. By July of 2009, people will see how much of a two face he really is. This giving the FREE money away is just the start.

Re: mblahnikluver – Now I know how stupid people can get

    5. 205

I just don't get why im suppose to feel sorry for people who signed themselves up for this– its not like they were forced to be on his campaign they chose to do it because they believed in him so much– At least some people on here can agree that the media was eating out of Obama's had– it was amazing to me that no one brought that up in the interview once– that Palin and McCain were ripped apart where everything Obama and Michele did was like oh look at these nice people lalalala the media and celebrities won Obama the election– and people who cannot think for themselves just followed suite it really is a disgrace this election– i am so so embarassed as to how stupid Americans were this time– Nothing was ever run as to how much charity work the McCains have done and the adopted child Cindy adopted. I mean its Bullsh*t McCains are not these horrible people they do alot of good McCain fought for our country– what did the Obama's do? Preach hate again whites and america— and he became president?? how the hell did that happen?? Oh wait i know — people didnt do their research! I bet the Obama's income is way way higher than Palin's and her families. Obama's are very rich not these "middle income" families who understand where America is right now yeah im sure lol they will never ever know what it is like to struggle in these economic times– but dont worry Obama fed you the "change" and you guys ate it hook line and sinker..

      He deserved it!

    7. 207

I am absolutely ok with them getting bonuses. They deserve it for a job well done. I donated to the campaign twice and am totally cool with them using the money to help out the people that worked their asses off.

    8. 208

I AM GLAD THE MONEY I SENT WILL GO TO PAY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO GOT THE JOB DONE. MAYBE OTHER EMPLOYERS WILL SHARE THEIR PROFITS WITH THE LITTLE PEOPLE WHO PUT THEM WHERE THEY ARE. I HATE ALL THOSE RICH FUCKHEADS WHO COULDN'T SPEND THEIR MONEY IN A LIFETIME WHO WANT TO STASH EVERYPENNY AND NOT HELP THE LESS FORTUNATE. DO THEY NOT REALIZE THEY THEMSELVES COULD HAVE BORN UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES, LIKE WITH A DISABILITY. STRAIGHT TO HELL WITH THEM I SAY. JESUS WAS A POOR MAN.

    9. 209

Campaign workers normally make shit for money and work long hours. They helped get the man elected. They deserve the money!

So Mister "P.S. Are U happy that your campaign contributions are possibly being spent this way????" this is what you pushed the vote for right? this is what you wanted to happen! this is the guy you wanted running our country… RIGHT? i wonder what else he's gonna do… if our hard earned money is just going to little splurges on his staffers.
sorry to say honey but you're gonna have to get over it. even if it is true… this is what you asked for!
      i'm just sayin!

    15. 215

I think its a brilliant idea. I don't know how much you make being a part of a political campaign, but I cant imagine it being much. I know if I was a part of it, I would greatly appreciate being rewarded for my hard work. I would much rather see those hard working people get it than see it be dissolved into the government, never to be seen again.

And for those comparing it to the Sarah Palin wardrobe crap, you should reconsider the situation because what you're saying doesn't make any sense. The GOP supposedly spent $150,000 on Sarah Palin's wardrobe alone. If you were giving money to John McCain's campaign, would you be happy to hear it was going into Palin's closet? Especially after he LOST the election? I know I wouldn't. In Obama's case, this is now after the fact, the campaign is over, Obama won, and there's money leftover. The money came from supporters of Obama to help fund his campaign and he's putting it into his campaign by giving it to those who worked on it. Why is that wrong?

    16. 216

I'm happy he's doing that! Those people work tirelessly and deserve it.

He truly is a president (elect) of the people. To those of you who think he should have put it into the economy…well, that is exactly what he is doing. He is bolstering the economy with a "from the ground up" approach. This way, the money can't be used for elaborate hunting trips, posh vacations, or 7-digit CEO salaries. Campaign staffers do not make a lot of money, especially given the work (long hours, no sleep, time away from family) that they have to put in. They don't do it for the money. They do it for an ideal - to make this country better for all. I think it's fabulous that they are being rewarded with a bonus. Even so, the extra money they are receiving doesn't come close to what they truly deserve. Thus, this bonus is completely warranted. And to all those who think I'm just another liberal spouting partisan bs…I'm actually a conservative Republican who voted for, and contributed to Obama.
