R.I.P.

Over 20 staffers were suddenly laid off at - involuntarily - Entertainment Weekly yesterday.

Firings (including some voluntary buyouts) are also expected at People magazine and other sister publications as Time Inc. continues to struggle.

It's funny Perez, you say you are sympathetic but you are one of the major instigators of the problem. Most people come online to a site like yours for their daily entertainment gossip info, myself included. I hardly buy the magazines now, it's obviously the same with others. It just feels insincere to read this type of statement in your blog. I don't believe you give a toss!

EW should probably pull of their resources and convert everything to the web. The magazine is a great source for info but it won't win out over other celebrity magz. If it goes 100% online, may do better IMO
