South Carolina Catholic Priest Says No Communion Wafers For Unrepentant Obama Voters

South Carolina Catholic priest Jay Scott Newman has told his parishioners in a letter that if they voted 'Barack Hussein Obama' and don't ask for forgiveness for doing so before taking the Body and Blood of Christ, their souls will be at risk!
His reason?
Says the priest, "Our nation has chosen for its chief executive the most radical pro-abortion politician ever to serve in the United States Senate or to run for president. Voting for a pro-abortion politician when a plausible pro-life alternative exists constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil, and those Catholics who do so place themselves outside of the full communion of Christ's Church and under the judgment of divine law. Persons in this condition should not receive Holy Communion until and unless they are reconciled to God in the Sacrament of Penance, lest they eat and drink their own condemnation."

I'm Catholic and I'm also pro-life. But I do NOT agree with this priest. What was the alternative to voters? Someone who is pro-choice…or someone who wants to remain in a war where thousands of troops are being killed and thousands of innocent people in the Middle East are losing their lives. I don't think either is right, just my opinion, but if this priest is going to condemn people, he's acting as a God when he is not and he is also not considering that war is also a way for people to be killed, is it not??

I think he should consider the fact that the Catholic church is against capital punishment and torture. No one said anything about voting for him. I think this priest has overstepped his authority and will probably have repercussions from not only his church but the bishop of his diocese.

Many women kill their unborn children all the time through abortion with selfish reasons, either they just didn't want a baby, its not the "right time" or it isn't convenient for them. Maybe they should have thought about having sex before they got themselves pregnant. A child grows from the moment of conception. It has a heart beat at 10 weeks, which is actually less than three months. When a tree or a flower grows from the ground from a seed, we say its a tree, its growing, nothing else; but a child, apparently isn't a child until 3 months, 4 months, 5 months etc. A normal human being doesn't stop physically growing until ABOUT 25. Mentally we grow until we die. So then is it ok to kill a child who is seven years old? No it isn't so why is it ok to kill a growing baby who could have the potential to become something greater than we could ever believe in.
