On Friday, the new James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace, reeled in $26 million at the US box office.
Industry experts say that it's on track to make at least $60 million by the end of the weekend.
$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!
One of the flick's suits is quoted as saying, "That's more than 60% better than the opening of Casino Royale and $20M or more over the best Bond U.S. opening ever."

its number one becasue daniel craig is soooooooo damn hot
he's definitely a great Bond.
but the script was really weak.
the performances were good, considering. but the script was really really weak.
Lots of action. Great car. But the plane? Too much.
…I'd love to sing the love theme and also be his paramour. Preferably shirtless because " I Need To Be In Love".

I don't get it, it totally sucked, lacked action and a decent script. If you want to see a good movie watch TAKEN

I heard the reviews weren't so good; that everything that makes Bond Bond was omitted this time: the "Bond,James Bond" thing, M and Q….is this true? They say it's not typically "Bond" but no different than any other generic action film! I will still see it on PayTV later though(there's not much I spend $$ on to see in the cinema) and I don't really like Craig as Bond; he's an ok actor and all(and I have nothing against him, or anything) but I just don't really "see" him as Bond; I prefer Sean Connery or Roger Moore. Maybe it's because he's blond? I don't know….anyone else feel this way,too?

This movie was lame!! I've seen most of them, at least all since Pierce was bond, and this sucked!! What a waste of money. If you have to see it, wait until you can rent it. Not enough action to even care what size T.V you have to watch it!
I really enjoyed it but Bond was too brooding, Bond's emotional frailty is not a high point of any Bond movie but it didn't bother me too much because the action kicked ass.
Saw it, Loved it. the whole theatre clapped at the end. There was some funny lines that had everyone laughing too. It was great
Re: JokerBaby – Errrr….Bond is British…hence he works for Her Majesty's Secret Service not the CIA. He can't be an American. If that happened (which it won't) then the series might as well shrivel up and die. We've got enough good British actors to play Bond, it'll be sheer desperation before they look to America for help.
I enjoyed it, but it isn't really James Bond anymore. I guess it makes sense to try and bring the franchise into the 'new age' of effects etc but this doesn't feel like a 'spy' movie, which is what I always saw Bond movies as. No gadgets, no wit, no one-liners, no 'Bond…James bond" - a pretty poorly written script….at best a sh*t 'Bourne' film.
no offense, but George Clooney would have made a more suited bond- then the past couple.

I never thought I would like the James Bond movies, but this movie was amazing. I loved it!
I saw it - it was good. Liked seeing Craig in his underwear!!! Left you feeling a little unsatisified at the end, but don't they always so you will watch the next one!
Sorry but it's more like watching a Jason Bourne movie then a James Bond movie. The action was good but I'm just not liking this kind of James Bond. There is nothing really special about James Bond anymore. I miss all the elements that made James Bond special and good. Daniel Craig is good but he's not the best bond.
I'm ready for someone else to take over the directing and the role of James Bond.

This Movie .. Honestly Sucked it was not good !!
I was disappointed by this Bond. Sure it will make a bajillion dollars but the script was really lame. Dare I say it? I was bored at times whereas the last film I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't wait to see it again. What is up with that Bond Theme song by Alicia Keys and Jack White? I'm sure even a cracked up Amy Winehouse could have written a better song. The Bond Girls….could they spend a few of their gajillions in pre-production and give them some acting lessons? It was great to see more of Judy Dench this time around. I love Daniel Craig..but they need more script for him…some zingers and less pout…or more shirtless scenes to distract from this lame effort. Even the bad guy was lame. I can't believe I'm saying this about a 007 film!! Let's hope next time a weeee more thought goes into the making of the Bond.

Anyways, I saw it and it was amazing! I wish it was longer! And Daniel Craig looks nothing like a James Bond character should, but he is sooooooo handsome.

Eh, more like Quantum of Die Hard; I have to side with Roger Ebert per too much action and not enough story/suspense. However, Daniel Craig's profile occasionally looks like Steve McQueen (not a bad thing) and damn if the Diving Bell and the Butterfly dude didn't look like Roman Polanski (not necessarily a good thing and for the love of God and all things holy, lock up your 13 year olds).
Wayyy too much Ford and Sony product placement too.

Just got back from the movie tonight and LOVED IT!!!!! movie theatre was packed! something i have not seen in awhile:P best movie i have seen in like 2 years…the movie industry has really been lacking. BUT DANIEL CRAIG IS SO DAMN HOT! i highly recomend this movie it was alot of fun!
For people who like a LOT of action, this is the one to see. It was fun from beginning to end. And I don't even like James Bond films, but I liked this one.

it was great, every minute was action packed, had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. plus, you get to see bond get emotional, which is incredible

As a Daniel Craig uber fan *who doesn't find this man beyond sexy?!? I found the latest 007 installment to be overly saturated with action scenes… I was looking for a bit more Bond alla' speedo exiting the ocean… Hello Handsome! Oh, and BTW since 007 is part of MI-6 (which is a BRITISH) intelligence agency, don't really think an American should play the role… Maybe, "Joker Baby" isn't aware EVERY 007 has been from that side of the pond..

that was the worst bond movie ever! So boring, my husband fell asleep to it, and I didnt have the heart to wake him to continue the torture. For those crack heads who thought this movie "rocks", obviously, your between the ages of 15-19yrs old. Way to young to remember the better bond films with Connery or Moore. The chase scene sucked, the bond girl sucked too. The movie's storyline was horrible. If I wanted to see a bad action film, I couldnt of went anywhere for that…I wanted to see BOND 007!! For some of those who think its good to evolve to more main stream movies, yours as delusional as the writers/director of this movie. Dont fix it if its not broke! I want cars that do stuff I never even dreamed (not one that is just a plain car), I want a bond girl(s) who make you check your sexuality because they are so hot, I want real action, not make you sick camera cuts back and forth. Just horrible, horrible, horrible…………….. And for those, who's theater clapped at the end, let me know where you live, so I dont move to that stupid ass town.
