Rich CEOs Turn Down Big Bonuses

In the face of economic crisis, Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein and 6 company leaders have decided to not take their 2008 bonuses, according to a company spokesperson on Sunday. They cited the company's poor performance as the reason why.
Duh!
They better not take OUR cash, especially after they accepted money from the government bailout!
It's a big change from last year, when even with a mortgage crisis threatening the company, Blankfein took a record-breaking $68 million bonus on top of a $600,000 salary.
The company has lost 70% of its value since the beginning of the year.
In October, Goldman Sachs received $10 billion from the government as part of its bailout plan. The plan calls for restricted bonuses.
It's going to be a lean holiday season!

They shouldn't take bonuses… if the company isn't recording a BETTER quarter than before, the CEo and other C-level execs are not doing their jobs properly and should be replaced. Even in this weakened economy, there are still businesses that are flourishing when run properly. If your business isn't being run properly, you shouldn't get a performance-based bonus.

Let's be clear here. this was not a banker bail out. It was worse than that, it was a banker buy out. The US Government owns all of our asses. They can control the market and our assets and manufacture another great depression at will. I don't blame the government though as much as I blame you sheep. You are lucky to see them working a full 40 hours. And before you say it yes, I have met several CEO's of very large companies.

The bailout was a f'n joke on American tax payers. Republicans should have held out and not allowed this BS to pass. We all got f'd.
GOOD!!! If they want to stay in business, they have to be frugal. I know my company isn't getting their christmas bonus this year. It's a good thing they are learning that the company doesn't revolve around the CEO.

God only knows how much of the 700 billion bailout that Paulson handed over to them. He's their former CEO. He wanted to be sure to bailout AIG because they owed Goldman Sachs 20 million. There is NO OVERSIGHT to this; it was legislated but NEVER put in place. Paulson REFUSES to disclose who is getting what. Bloombeg News say they are suing to find out-??? This is the richest 5% in America getting richer. We just got poorer because that debt is on us and our heirs that will inherit the debt. Their heirs will inherit the wealth. We just got SCREWED again. We war with private contracts made their richer.

If all eyes weren't on them you know they would TAKE their bonuses! Restricted bonuses - those f'ers shouldn't get bonuses for years to come. They should have to give some of their fat bonuses from the past as part of the bailout program. No wonder their company is in the shitter. When you give $68 million bonuses over and over. how do you guys even know what you're talking about. all the "executives" that you are bashing have been working hard day and night to try to help the situation. and to "i'm super" you havent met anyone important because trust me they have been working their asses off while you sat there doing nothing complaining about how much they suck when you're the real loser in this world. turns out the reason why no one is getting a bonus is because the stock market is so fucked up and there is no money left after all of their hard work. p.s. stop hatting the people who are better than you…you look like fools
