The Fires Continue To Consume Homes

California has been rocked by fires all over the state these past few days!

Many celebrities have homes in the area, such as Oprah Winfrey, Michael Douglas, and Rob Lowe.

And, now, we come to find out that actor Christopher Lloyd has just lost his home to the fires.

The 70 year-old former Back to the Future actor's eight-acre property burned to the ground when the fires broke out.

As for Lloyd, he was filming in Vancouver when the fire hit his house. Luckily, a caretaker was able to flee the property safely. But, his $6 million home, pictured above, was one of over 100 luxury properties that has since burned down.

As of today, around 5,400 homes have been evacuated from and unfortunately 13 people have been injured.

And, scary enough, some residents were getting trapped at home.

Rob Lowe, the actor from the West Wing and that home porno back in the day, told how he had to flee with his children as the fires were approaching his home. He also mentioned how his family stopped to check on neighbors and found some of them trapped behind their automatic car gates that were stuck due to the power shutting down.

Lowe told a local news reporter that, "Embers were falling. Wind was 70 miles an hour easily and it was just like Armageddon. You couldn't hear yourself think."

Part of Westmont College also burned down, causing students to spend the night in a gym shelter.

Our thoughts go out to the fire victims, fire fighters, and all of those who are working so hard to help out during such a devastating time.

These poor actors that lost their homes in the fire can replace them with the money they make in 6 months. The regular Joe will have to take out a loan to recover the cost.

Um Perez or idiot Ghost Writer, WHY ARE YOU SO LATE!! This was reported 2 days ago on the news. You are becoming so out of touch, stop fucking off at your D List parties and do your Job. You're always 2 days late with everything.
      -
Besides I think Oprah's rich ass will be just fine, lets be more sympathetic to the people or lets talk about the over 100 trailer homes that went up in flames within minutes because those are the people I'm more worried about!

    40. 40

I feel for the fire fighters, and the children and folks who were injured or trapped, but I don't feel as much sympathy for rich celebrities who lost their one of umpteen many homes they own. Most weren't even there. They also have insurance, so they can get another one. Some items, you can't replace (photos, some sentimental things), but if they were home at the time, then they should just be thankful they got out alive.

    41. 41

Re: LettyB – Yes, it really does need some attention. I'm ready Letty!

    42. 42

Boy, I wish there was a large, organized group of people in that area of the country who could make themselves useful by volunteering with the Red Cross or organizing donation drives for the victims of the fire destroying their home state..

oh wait. They're busy protesting taco stands and harassing Mormons. My mistake.

    43. 43

      burn baby
      burn..haha

    44. 44

No you idiot TOOL. This isn't SAD, it's unfortunate. These people have enough money & will build or buy new obnoxiously expensive homes.
And Perez, if you didn't have your nose shoved up celebrity asses, you'd write with some intelligence. Why do we WORSHIP CELEBRITIES. SAD is the millions of people losing the shirts of their backs because our economy is tanking. THINK PEOPLE, THINK.

    45. 45

You wrote this like people don't know who Chris Lloyd and Rob Lowe are.

    46. 46

This is Karma for all those celebrities jamming Obama down our throats!!!! I say to all of them, don't fret the new Messiah Obama will bail you out, except for Oprah that is, cause she's a fucking bitch and deserves all the grief she gets.

    47. 47

      Aww…
      soo sad..
      : (

    48. 48

I have a really hard time feeling sorry these people with their million dollar houses.

    49. 49

Lloyd's house was worth 11.3 million. Way to fact check, ass!

    50. 50

yeah…i don't feel sorry for them
i live in Sylmar and watched someone house 4 streets above mine go up in smoke and was praying that mine wasn't next
So my sympathy is not for them

    51. 51

      Note to Self:
If I ever have a crapload of money & want to build a house in CA . . . build it out of concrete & asbestos.

      52

First of all, the celebs can afford to rebuild. Especially Oprah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its the hard working everyday people who should be in our thoughts right now!

    53. 53

I live in Santa Barbara and it's been devastating. I lost my home in the 1990 Painted Cave Fire and I know what those people are going through, it's just awful. SB has really come together as a community. Tons of volunteers including myself and food, water, shelter, clothing from local businesses. It looks like it was arson too. I hope that muthafucka burns in hell for creating this hardship for people. There was also a rumor going around that stars homes were saved before ordinary people's homes. I hope that isn't true. Over 200 homes are gone. My thoughts go out to the families impacted by this tragedy that didn't have to happen. My thoughts go to those in LA and the firefighters working to end this disaster. Peace.

    54. 54

i think the saddest part is part of he college Westmont has burned down, students are without their rooms, and some lost a lot of their stuff, hopefully they will be able to rebuild soon.

      56

looks like the apocolypse out here!

    57. 57

this fire was a 1/2 mile from my work. scary shit. alot of apartments burnt down in this area

    58. 58

      Number 1, old news.
Number 2, rich people losing their mansions. Boo hoo.

    59. 59

You should mention that the wonderfully tolerant, beautiful spiritual haven of Mount Calvary Episcopal Monastery was reduced to rubble. All the precious monks who lived there are now homeless.

    60. 60

just your thoughts, actors arent the only ones affects. most of my friends and i were evacuated, and a couple close friends lost theur homes. at least oprah has the money where she isnt affected. it sucks that people arent taking it seriosuly until one day it may heppen to them

    61. 61

      you are such a dumbass

news about christopher lloyd's home came out on friday

    62. 62

Big deal. They're so rich - one of many houses they most likely own - insurance will pay to rebuild. Too bad Oprah's house was spared - it would have been poetic justice to see it burn down. WHO cares - these fucks are so rich and will have better houses then they started with.

    63. 63

Re: NoHollaBackGirl – Yeah, kinda like all the fucking liberals in Santa Barbara - again - Santa Barbara SUCKS - old rich dudes, spoiled rich college kids, and libs - nothing to miss there - at all.

    64. 64

wow…finally you talk about it. Maybe Cali is doing somethin wrong? Hmmm…

    65. 65

Why doesn't he go BACK INTO THE FUTURE and save his house from fire?

Get it ? I am so funny I sould write for leno.

    66. 66

Yikes. That santiago canyon fire is 3 minutes from my house and coming closer… no good.

    67. AMO says – reply to this

      67

So this is front page news b/c they're million dollar celebrity homes? Natural disasters happen everywhere. Sucks though, no matter how much your house cost.

    68. 68

These people's houses are too big already. Capitalism consumes everything. I know that it must be hard to lose your home, but it is much worse for those who, at this current point in their lives, have nothing to lose. To be able to afford a home is a dream that many Americans are having a hard time fulfilling.

    69. 69

first, rob lowe has spent a lot of time trying to put the past in the past. It would be nice if "some people" would let it go. Can't wait until someone starts uncovering perez's steamy secrets. And don't say you don't have any because there are always skeletons in the closet.

    70. 70

These guys shouldn't be upset about losing their homes and belongings. After all, the kids who started the fire didn't have any criminal intent.
