What's a show to do when they wanna goose ratings?
They get celebrities to guest star!
And the struggling Kath & Kim , in a desperate attempt to get some ratings, has decided to use Pamela Anderson as a "celebrity" guest star.
Though the heads at K&K should remember, not every "star" helps with the ratings.
Just ask the execs at 30 Rock.
They had their lowest rated show this season when "star" Jennifer Aniston made her guest appearance.
As for K&K, the show only attracted about 5.1 million viewers last week on NBC.
That's well below the 7.5 million who tuned in to watch the premier in early October.
But NBC has faith in the show because they've ordered a full season of episodes. That, or nothing else has popped either!
Let's see if Pam gets them their lowest show ratings to date. We hope not. We like the American Kath & Kim!

Kath and Kim totally blows. It's know as "shower time" on Thursday nights in our house because it's the show during which we can take our evening showers. This show's so bad it's almost painful to watch and the only reaon it's doing even moderately well in the ratings is because it's tucked into the otherwise stellar Thursday lineup.
Wow, that Hep C is really starting to take a toll on her looks. She needs to take care of herself.

i LOVE Kath and Kim. As far as Pamela Anderson… I'm not going to tune in or not tune in just because she's guest starring. I'll admit, I did see Hans Klok's magic show in Vegas last year just b/c she was one of his "beautiful assistants". It was decent.
Anyways…. as i mentioned, i LOVE Kath & Kim and hope gets a full 2nd season too. If they want guest stars, maybe Megan Mullally would be good. And Molly Shannon has history with Will & Grace, so i think that would work great.
I wasn't gonna give the show a chance and one day I did. and I Loved it. It doesn't need to be improved it's hilarious every week! They showed it on Bravo all day yesterday and I watched all the episodes again. I hope it doesn't get cancelled! Perez! Promote the shit out of it, people tend to listen to you! lol
I am an Australian living in America and I had such high hopes for K&K especially since Jane Turner and Gina Riley (AUS Kath & Kim) are the execs. It is SO sad for me to see how much the show has changed. The "humor" is forced and plain not funny, it's tacky to say the least. Tacky in a bad way I mean the Australian format really plays up the tacky into humor and the US version, boy it just does not carry over.
It's too bad though cause the AUS version truly is HILARIOUS! Hopefully HBO picking up "Summer Heights High" will be a great move for AUS television and our humor can carry over into American TV.
I think though it has something to do with testing the humor water, look at "The Office", the 1st season was HORRIBLE because English humor doesn't carry over well. American humor is much more obvious and slapstick where as other countries comedy shows are more covert. And now "The Office" is one of my favorite shows. Or "Arrested Development" easily one of the best shows … ever … and it didn't do well here.
I have hope though that more great comedy shows like "The Office", "Arrested Development" and "30 Rock" can still happen. Hopefully K&K can take a hint that the writers need to rewrite all scripts submitting for episodes cause they lost me 5 minutes into the 1st show. I kept watching for it to pick up and was disappointed.

**** I'm sorry but this show is absolutely HILARIOUS !!! They played every episode in a row yesterday afternoon on Bravo. My husband and I were cooking so I made him watch. He is a big muscualr macho Midwestern guy and even he thought the show was funny. I forget the main guys name but he is super funny. It can't get dropped - its comedy gold I tel you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just watched all of the episodes of K&K to date this weekend on my computer. I like Selma Blair's character and all of the tacky outfits but while the show is vaguely entertaining if one is bored, it is simply not very funny. I watched about 5 episodes and had not one laugh out loud moment. Too bad, I wanted to like it…

I'm Canadian and I love Pam just for being one herself. I have also seen her in interview, being interviewed by a Canadian and I was charmed with her self deprecating way of seeing herself but.. it is time to hang up the "Hi! I'm hot" look. Honestly its time to write a cookbook or children's book or a book about your life, go in a different direction, get the boobs reduced, wear a little more conservative clothes, lay off the crap to make the lips get huge and she will be sexy again..
One of the worst shows on TV, another example of a British show that didn't survive its cross over the pond. And Pam? She looks awful. She should take off a couple pounds of make up, go down several sizes in implants, gain about 20 lbs., and stop dressing like a cheap hooker and maybe, just maybe she'd look like a mom her sons could be proud of.
That show is HILARIOUS. I wouldn't have tuned in if I hadn't heard about it on ur site. They just need more advertising. It's so witty and strange I love it.

honestly? i think it's the writing. the plotlines just aren't very exciting. i like the characters, and sometimes there are some really funny subtleties. for instance, kath told kim that she and phil "can't elope" while she was holding a cantaloupe. admit it.. that's sort of funny. i also thought the episode when they went to the gay bar was cute, and kath "butt-dialed" phil.
the show just needs more funny (and less plot lines about the stupid dog)
