Harry Potter's Magic Wand Is Still Limp On Broadway

Not many Americans are interested in seeing Harry Potter's ween!
Broadway grosses for the week ending November 16th were just released and it looks like Equus is having some serious problems filling its seats.
Last week, on average, Daniel Radcliffe's play only sold a little more than half its seats per show.
On the other hand, Katie Holmes' All My Sons is doing well!
It was Broadway's 4th best performer for the week.
Mrs. Cruise's show was 91% sold on average per show.
Maybe David Beckham can step in for a few shows for his fellow Brit, Dan.
We bet those shows would sell out in seconds!

How long did anyone REALLY expect this play to be "big"? I mean it's fucking Daniel Radcliffe for Christ's sake.. As soon as the hype he was butt-ass on stage died down.. what did you really expect?

That's too bad. It's a really good staging of the play, and he's actually really good in it.

sorry perez this isn't really true. i just went to see equus last week and the seats completely full. not only that but my friends saw it 2 to 3 weeks before i did and they said it was also packed. idk where ur getting that information. not only that but the play is absolutely moving.

Probably fans are doing this as payback for moving the movie. If they would had just stuck to the plan nothing would had happened, the plan of the movie coming out in November. he has already done this, last year in England and everyone, i mean EVERYONE, knew and look how well OOTP did! It's not just Equus that's only able to fill a little over half its seats, most broadway shows are hurting and selling about the same. Also, a reason Katie's play is selling well is because it's still fairly new and because the broadway beloved John Lithgow is in it. Your posts about broadway are one sided and uneducated.

This is a worthwhile show to see. Radcliffe, peen or no peen, does a fantastic job. Theatregoers are missing a great performance!

okay, equus ads are on tv, which means seats are available, but most of broadway is down right now. the only reason kh's play might, MIGHT be filled in more is because you have idiots buying tickets to maybe see tc and you have people buying tickets to see john lithgrow, dianne wiest and others that are doing a great job. the others don't include kh who got okay reviews, but the others did. I also thought his run was over (DR) BUT-when tickets are not selling out, alot are thrown over to 'tkts' and are sold for half price the day of the show. where alot of us middle and lower class go.
I got tickets to see this play on January 8 as a birthday present to my partner, I hope it doesn't close before then!
You all realize the reason all my sons is doing so well is because of Veteran actors Lithgow and Weist - Holmes' performance is 'passable' - so please if you are going to compare the shows say Lithgow outsells Radcliffe on Broadway - and that should come as a shock to no one.

What is wrong with you people (including P. Hilton)? Any moron can look up the receipts themselves. The box office was down for the week ending 11/16, however, for the whole run the average capacity of the theater has been 71%! And, that's with the 5th highest average ticket price on Broadway right now - only Billy Elliot, Wicked, South Pacific and another musical that I can't remember have a higher average ticket price. Plus - Daniel Radcliffe has gotten rave reviews for his performance from the whole theater community, even where the overall review for the play itself has not been good. Plus, for those who are clueless about theater - he's not interested in being a sex symbol, his main concern is actually to be a great actor. From all accounts and interviews - he seems like a pretty level-headed, intelligent and nice kid. Yes . . . KID . . . he's only 19! Get a grip Perez, what is it about this kid that makes you want to attack him all the time (after the initial posts that made it seem you wanted to do something else to him)?
