Reba McEntire To Return To Broadway?

Fans get your tickets!

Because Reba McEntire might very well be making her way back to Broadway in a revival of Anything Goes for the Roundabout.

7 years ago, the country singer - with no prior Broadway experience - starred in a revival of Annie Get Your Gun. That was a huge $1 million a week phenomenon. Since revealing her magic touch, producers have been trying to hook Reba, but she's been occupied with her (now cancelled) sitcom and her music career.

The production, which will most likely be directed by Kathleen Marshall of The Pajama Game, would probably cast Reba in the role of evangelist-turned-nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, allowing the singer to showcase her voice with numbers such as the musical's title song.

Reba expressed having fun on Annie and that she would return.

Let's hope they manage to bring her back!

First time commenter here. And for those of you saying she looks old, or who cares, have you ever seen her perform live? Back in her hay day, I saw in her concert 7 freakin' times. The woman puts everything into her shows and I would LOVE to see her back on Broadway. Not to mention she's one hell of a savvy business woman.

She knows what she likes, she likes Fritos!

I hate this bitch. Not only does she sing off-key, but she puts a hold on scores of country songs yearly,….so no one can record them, while she retains the rights to record them if she so desires.
    She's a money-hungry country bitch.
Hated in Nashville and the rest of Tennessee.

    Re: You Hurl Girl
"You Hurl Girl"- As if you have ANY idea what you're talking about. Reba is one of the most adored and legendary people in country music and the music industry in general. And even if she does put a "hold" on songs, legendary and iconic singers who have a lot of clout and ability to be choosy are allowed to do that. It's part of the game and I'm sure all big acts exercise that right. Songwriters are more than willing to wait on a song to see if Reba will record it instead of some random other country act that is nowhere near as important as Reba. And Perez- I love you so much more for including news about Reba on your site. The range of info you can get on here is amazing! You cover all things that people might be interested in. To all of you who don't care to read about Reba- just scroll past it! Geez, relax. Maybe some of the rest of us do care and do want to hear about it.

This is so great! I can't believe what some of you guys are saying about her though - she is a legend in the music industry. She's one of the biggest selling female singers of all time and holds so many records it's not even funny. She's also been honored too many times to count. And don't get me started on her voice.. probably one of the greatest, most powerful and emotional voices I've ever heard. And she's definitely the most down to earth woman in the music business these days.. You guys need to broaden your horizons and give her a chance.. she's an incredible woman all around. I also have to agree with s0c01111 when I say thank you to you Perez for including information on her.. it makes me appreciate you for so much more than just simple celebrity gossip. Keep it up!

I hope she really does do this! I have seen this woman in concert 4 times and she is amazing. She has an amazing dance crew and can put on a show. I know it's hard for people to believe that country can actually be good and entertaining, but this woman does it! She also has an amazing (again, that word) voice. The first time I heard her live, I was like, she sounds so much different on stage than on a CD, but so much better!
