This is such a downgrade for a former First lady to such a popular President as well as a respected Senator. If I were her, I'd probably turn that position down and just focus on leading healthcare reform. She should have at least been VP instead of Biden. If she does take this post however, it would prove to everyone that she really does love her country, and that she didn't run for President just for power. Respect to her.

You guys are naive if you think that Obama can actually 'change' everything. He's NOT god. Even if he wanted to 'change', I'm sure there are many people behind him in the government that will make it very difficult for change to happen. He'd have to go status quo eventually if he wants people to back him up in order to sustain his political future in the long run. At least he's smart enough to invite as many Clinton's ex-aides into his administration as he can…cause he knows they're the only ones with any experience and respect that could help him through this economic mess. First off, I think this is wonderful news. It really makes me think that this is the reason Obama didn't pick her as VP. Afterall, even Biden said the VP doesn't do much. The SOS job has a lot more responsiblity.
Second, Obama ran his campaign on "CHANGE", from the last 8 years…as in different from BUSH. Just because Hillary has been in politics for a while doesn't mean she isn't a CHANGE from BUSH.
Third, the only way to satisfy the CHANGE all of you people keep talking about is to have the entire government run by people who have never been in politics before and don't know what they're doing. Hillary knows what she's doing and is a welcome change from the last eight years.

I'm still not sure why people are equating Hilary becoming SoS with voting for Obama. I mean, if Hilary was so awesome, why didn't you vote for her to become president?
