He's cute little kid who made his claim to fame covering You're My Honeybunch (The Cuppycake Song).
Well, he recently met up with Amy, the song's original performer, for a brief interview.
Sadly, Sam suffers from a rare kidney condition - for which he takes steroids. The steroids have stunted his growth and complicated his weight.
After his "chubby" rendition of The Cuppycake Song, the producers of The Doctors reached out to Sam and his family to help him find an alternate treatment for his disease.

Ok, I did my research and that girl recorded that when she was 3…so I was wrong, it wasn't a case of a baby-talker…ok…this is cute! I guess she just reminded me of alot of the people you see on youtube that are kind of obnoxious, but I guess shes' cool.

I'm glad I wasn't one of the assholes who left comments about this kids weight the last time you posted him. To be fair to the others though perez never said this kid was on steroids and was sick. So people just though he was fat. Shame on perez for not checking better.

My boyfriend and I watched the original w/ Sam and he actually thought the kid was somehow photoshopped because it was insane how big his cheeks were. Now I am going to go call him and explain, because it makes sense. I really hope they can help him out, he's so freakin adorable.

I was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease when I was 9. It is called Naphradic Syndrome, and I was on Prednisone, a steroid for 9 years.
I hope the Doctors help him with his treatment. I had the best nuephrologist here in Virginia. I reccomend her. Dr. Irene Restaino, she practices at CHKD in Norfolk, VA. All my love Sam.

I told you Perez that he wasn't chubby, that something was wrong….that is the look of someone on severe amounts of prednisone. A friend of mine nearly died from a rare kidney condition that caused her to have the same swelling. I know you can be so kind sometimes….but just remember when you make comments about people, sometimes it's something they can't help.
I just want to hug him!!! He's so sweet! And I remember when you first posted his video, all the horrible people slamming him and his parents because of his weight and the smart ones with hearts (such as myself) defending him saying it could be a disease. Well well well, would you look at that. Just goes to show you shouldn't assume…everyone that bashed him should be extremely ashamed of themselves and pray extra extra hard for forgiveness.

oh come on Perez, you were even blaming his parents and using the link for children obesity, but you acknowledge something new. It's not all fat people who chose to supersize themselves on purpose : medical treatments, diseases are serious factors to weigh gain. In our country poor people stat also to get fat because low cost goods are all manufactered and full of hidden fat and sugar, it can cost money to feed with organic and natural food.

The first time this was posted there were HUNDREDS of comments about him being obese, and "charge the parents" it's "child abuse that he's so fat!", and blah blah blah! People said Awful hurtful things, NOW everyone knows his puffy face is from KIDNEY FAILURE, and his weight is complicated by the MEDICINE he takes to keep him ALIVE! And NOW read the comments from some of the same ppl who were ready to send him to the FAT FARM! Funny how oppinions change when given the whole story! People are so quick to judge.
