Filed under: Anglophilia > Film Flickers > Robert Pattinson
Preliminary box office analysis has found that Twilight could be on its way to a spectacular $70 million opening weekend.
How do you like that?
A teen vampire movie is doing Disney family film numbers!
As of this Friday night, the Robert Pattinson-starring movie made $33 million.
Industry insiders expect the movie to net $145-$150 million by the end of its box office run.
The virginial vampire is making obscene money!

enough to buy some shampoo I hope…
Ugh, I can believe some people actually think Robert Pattinson is hot. I'm sorry but he looks like a younger version of Joaquin Phoenix with extra greasy hair. Ew.
are you serious? it was the worst movie i've ever seen.. the whole theater was laughing at how awful it was.. the acting was terrible
GOOD MAYBE THEY WILL USE ALL THE MILLIONS THEY MAKE FROM IT AND MAKE THE NEXT FILM TEN TIMES BETTER TO MAKE IT "GOOD" BECAUSE THIS LOW BUDGET CRAP REALLY BROUGHT THE MOVIE DOWN!! and robert better re-negotiate for more money, he isnt even making a million for this hype. He needs a new car… his wipers dont work
Of course it is, people are fucking bored.
i love this movie
my favourite
and it was really funny
especially jasper
I loved it!
Hate twilight.
if you didn't read the books then don't bother commenting on the movie. i'm a fan of the series and i thought they did very well with the movie considering it's hard to ever do a book justice. and duh perez of course they left it open for more movies - if you read the books you'd understand why they ended it with Victoria watching them at prom.
READ THE BOOKS PEOPLE!
Re: Listen To Mayday Parade –
I agree!!! They need to bring out the big dogs for the next movie!!
Re: Laury –
he's hot and joaquin phoenix is hot
wow, i didnt rread the books or see the movie yet. but a bunch of my friends form the swim team went to the midnight one and almost cried because it was so bad.
love the movie!!!!!
and i will see it again many times!!!
love twilight..& love robert pattinson!!!!
it was pretty good if you've read and liked the books, but if you aren't a fan of the books i doubt you will like the movie. i personally liked it, but i like the books. and i think the guys are hot, but thats just my opinion. hahaha i was one of those weirdos who saw it at midnight even though i had school the next day. but honestly it really is an opinion movie, not everyone will like it. it's not a legendary good film like the dark knight though.
Can't wait for more!
GLAD ITS DOING BETTER THAN SHITTY OLD HSM 3
.
Twlilight is such an amazing book and storyline
.
Robert Pattison is hotter in the movie than real life though…
Big deal. The Dark Knight made almost $70 million in it's first DAY of release. Silly kids.
THANKS TO PEREZ!!! THIS IS THE MINI SITE OF THE MOVIE… VAMPIRES ARE THE MOST BORING THING ON EARTH MAN! AT FIRST, I THINK IT WILL BE A SUPERHERO MOVIE LIKE DRAGON BALL Z, CAUSE THIS MOVIE STEAL A LOT OF DRAGON BALL STUFF….
TWILIGHT IS SO OVERRATED. PURE MARKETING MAN! PEREZHILTON.COM O TWILIGHT THE MOVIE.COM
THIS BLOG IS ONLY A PROMOTION SITE!
Re: Mrs Joker – That is true, but Twilight is 90% (if not more) a female crowd, so it couldn't bring it the highest numbers, but thats ok, its still bringing in a lot of money that they can use to making the next one better then this one.
ALSO the dark night made as much money as it did because heath ledger died while filming this movie. it was bound to bring in more of a crowd because of the tragedy.
I don't understand why people are going off about looks? are we in junior high again! get over it. Not everyone is perfect. And if he's not your cup of tea shut you mouth. Maybe he's someone's elses. Besides this has nothing to do with looks. Its about the damn movie. I thought the movie was a perfect portrail. Even with it being low budget. I expect the next to be even better. For those who saw the movie and didnt read the book. I suggest you going and getting the book . Read it. And watch the movie again. Maybe you will understand things a little better.
That is the UGLIEST figure on a chick I've ever seen my entire life.
Not cute. Either of them.
Yay!!! That means more sequels!!
OH and to all the fuckers out there who hate Twilight, go fuck yourself
I saw this lastnight and it was a really good movie. Almost depressing cause it makes love look toooooooooo easy.
I loved the movie. Rob and Kristen were more than great and I also thought that Catherine and Co did an awesome job adapting the film to the book, and it is pissing me off that people are hating on it. People really need to go into it with an open mind and remember that these people had a LOW budget. **Also, i took a friend with me who did not read the books, and she also liked the movie, so for all the twilight haters raining on my parade…shut the hell up!
Rob Pattinson is too good for Twilight. The books suck and Hardwicke the director and the scriptwriter are atrocious. I'm just lookign forward to seeing Pattinson in the trailer for Little Ashes. Its released on 1 December.
My sister who actually likes the books said it was horrible.
Re: addicted_2_twilight – Hmmm so no one is allowed to have a different opinion from yours? Close-mindedness at it's best. Kids these days I tell ya….
Re: Hmilfziaz –
Whatever.
Re: Listen To Mayday Parade – While I didn't like it, the Dark Knight got good reviews and the fans of the first movie and the comic books unanimously loved it, Twilight…not so much. This movie won't have legs after people hear how bad it is. I mean my sister LOVES the books and thought the movie was very disappointing.
the girl is kind of ugly…
i dont care what anyone says, i loved loved loved this movie!!
bella couldve been played a bit better, sorry kristen, but edward was pretty fabulous. i had my doubts, but robert pattinson pulled it off!!
They always look high.
it was very cult feeling. edward sissorhands meets evil dead goofyness. second time seeing it and liked it again :0)
Did you expect any differently?! 0.o I just hope they "bring out the guns" on the next movie, they should have enough to do that for their fans considering they are going to be raking so much in with this one…
Re: danascully – Oh I can admit that, I saw the movie Thursday night at 10 and left furious with how bad it was. I thought it was a poor college attempt at an indie movie, it was so bad. But then I went back and watched it again Friday, and I liked it. Not loved, not anywhere close to loved. But it was ok. The first 30 minutes was awful, but the middle flowed well. The final prom scene was shit, so your right when you say Dark Night deserved its fame. I am just saying it was bound to bring in more money no matter what, because the fan base is larger. But Dark Night was better, it was made by a better film company with a larger budget as well. Summit sucks, I dont respect them at all for butchering Twilights movie. They casted well though (minus huge nostril, Kristan Stuart… She doesnt play a very convincing girl in love.. She would play a better killer, she is so bitter and negative looking all the time)
ive seen it twice within a 12 hour period and i plan on seeing at least 2 more times. i love it. i didnt een want to see it but a friend dragged me. i cant get enough
Re: chloe123 – i loved him too. i wish they would have showed more of him!
the movie sucks, don't see it. the acting sucks. rob pattinson looks like he's going mad and taylor lautner doesn't even look native american.
Apperently tween girls are fans of bad acting and shity dialogue.
Re: Mrs Joker – Apparently, when you don't agree with someone around here, you are always an asshole who gets told off =P That should be common sense when coming here by now.
You're just lucky you don't have a real life picture up lol.. they tend to attack you personally when you don't agree with them as well =P
Wow! Am I the only one who thinks this young actress is beautiful?
That hair, those eyes…!
She's probably straight, dammit.
It's the ultimate teen romance - two lovers torn apart not by family conflict or a sinking ship but by vampirism. Genius concept.
I cant wait for the next one!
was not statisfied the when i saw it at the midnight show.. i was comparing it to the books too much and i was disappointed… went back 12 hours later and saw it again.. LOVED IT! once you get passed the differences from the books ot the movie its a very enjoyable film.. not the greatest alot more work could have been done but still a cutesy film that i definitely love. cant wait to go see it again tonight!
That movied suck. People have no taste.
I thought the movie was good. but i liked the books better! R-Patz killed it…the whole theater was screaming when his first scene came on…
can't wait for some sequels
WHOOOOOO TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!
I was really disapointed in the movie…they dropped the ball. There was not enough info of the books content. Without the mention or explaination of Tanya's clan, the Volturi, Bella's wish to become like Edward her fear of aging and Edward not, Bella's coming 18th birthday after prom, Bella and Alice's friendship, Mike's obsession with her, Jame's being Victoria's mate so her revenge makes sense, and what about showing even more how difficult it was for Edward to contol himself with Bella and her towards him. Only with all that can you understand she can't stay human and be with Edward. No real mention of the treaty or the werewolves, Jacob danced with bella at the prom, Victoria wasn't even there…and don't even get me started on Jasper's and Carlise's "roled in flour" appearence! They made what was a great book a serious joke. No content of the book's wonderful flavor can be found. Had I not enjoyed the books so much, I would never go see the second one. They better get Stephanie more involved before they ruin everything.
I went on Friday night to watch it! The theater was packed!!! and the movie is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!! loved it!
i dont undertand what people are talking about. this movie was fantastic.
Re: urdumb – UH SWEET HEART U OBVIOUSLY HAVE TO SEE THE MOVIE AGAIN BECAUSE ALL THAT CRAP YOU JUST WROTE WAS MENTIONED.. IF YOU PAYED ATTENTION..SHE TELLS HIM THAT SHE IS DYING EVERYDAY BECAUSE SHE IS GETTING *OLDER* AND PRACTICALLY THE ENTIRE MOVIE WAS FEEDING LINES FROM THE BOOK. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW YOU DIDNT GET THAT. AND THE WHOLE VOLTURI THING WILL BE MENTIONED IN THE SECOND MOVIE..OBVIOUSLY.
Re: kayleyr – your probably under the age of 15 and didnt notice the flaws in the directing/ producing… the movie was good in the middle, the first 30 minutes and the prom scene were poorly done though.
this move was soooo upsetting!
especially if you read the books but not even just that its just so cheap looking the special effects sucked
I have not seen the movie yet however, I am currently reading the Books, finished New Moon last night, just started Eclipse this morning.
To be quite honest, I do not expect that the movie can capture the elusive feelings that Bella and Edward effortlessly created for each other. The relationship grew out of a "yearning" for one another. Which if you read the books, you understand….to capture those intense emotions onscreen, to me, perhaps somethng that could not be introduced in a 2 hour film.
I will see the movie however and be greatful that I can see on screen, although somewhat different, perhaps not quite as intense, the characters, that for the moment….are compelling me to continue to read not wanting the story to end….perhaps yearning for the same type of love-I know I will never find….
oh my…
awesome! i did see it twice on friday [midnight and 9:30] so i dont blame them. both times i went it was PACKED, good thing i went an hour early.
Gosh. I feel raped by this film.
i found the movies funny…i have read the books and if you go in tere thinking is gonig to be hte book you will most likely hate hte movie but if you go to see it and think its not the real twilight its kinds goodish….but for me i just foundi t really funny…
Re: vendetta – LMFAO! 11 of us got together for the movie and over dinner aftwards only 1 thought it well done. Everyone of us noticed the missing essential details I mentioned above…if a movie has to be watched several times in order to enjoy, then it's a failure in just about anyones book but yours dear.
I LOVED IT!! I'm going to see it again tonight! Robert was so hot. Yum.
i wasn't expecting it to be exactly like the books cuz its impossible. the screenplay was okay but if you hadn't read the books i don't think you could've really understood what was going on like they "fell in love" soooo quickly. but anyways the biggest disappointment was kristen. she cannot act for shit.. she literally had the same facial expression the WHOLE movie. no emotion whatsoever! robert really made the movie for me.. he's perfect as edward.
it was just nice to see the story acted out but again, if didn't read the books you wouldn't have understood.
I thought the film was beautifully executed. The acting was great on Rob's part and pretty good on Kristin's part too. Every detail could not be entirely present in the film, as they were in the book, due to time and budget constraints. Likewise, there was also the issue of performing some very careful edits in the name of efficiency. I felt entirely satiated by the film and have no complaints, whatsoever. Bravo!!!
I've already seen the movie 5 times. Yes, I love it, and I loved the books. If people would accept ahead of time that movies are NEVER as good as books are, then they might enjoy it a little more. The book is definately better, but I think the movie did an amazing job considering their limited budget. The movie was very romantic and beautiful. And also, I never realized it going on, but JASPER IS HOT!!!!!
i cannot even finish the awful book
i cannot wait to make fun of the movie
so excited
HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT!!!!
As much as I'm a fan of the books, I have to admit that the movie was cheese-tastic. I felt like I was watching a parody of the books. People laughed at scenes that weren't supposed to be funny, the special effects were crap (which was to be expected with such a low budget), and the entire story moved WAY too fast.
Anyone who hasn't read the books will honestly think us Twilight fans are insane. But I still liked it, as crazy as that seems.
OH, one more thing. Ashley Greene TOTALLY nailed the role of Alice Cullen. I wish she had more screen time.
Just got the email from Summit that they have green-lit New Moon! WOOHOO!
I really hate to say it but it was a bad movie. It looked cheap and the acting was awful. The only thing that got me through it was being able to look at that beautiful Edward Cullen (Rob). My God he's gorgeous. I would've rather watched 2 hrs of just him then all the other crap that was going on.
Well, it's the first time this 37-year-old has EVER gone to a 10 a.m. movie in her LIFE. Let's applaud the author of the Twilight series, Stephanie Meyers, and the amazing cast, (Robert Pattinson) for this, the director SUCKS. I pray that the next one is done with a bigger budget and a WAY better director. TEAM EDWARD!!!_______________
Hi Mrs. Pattinson!!!!!
Re: acevedo85 – It has nothing to do with marketing and ALL to do with amazing books (and pattinson)
Why does Rob Pattycake look like he had his face in a bong just minutes before every fucking picture?
Who knew young girls have the lowest IQs on the planet? Is their anything that sucks they won't buy into?
i loved Twilight! i cant wait for New Moon to come out now
I thought the movie was alright. Tweens do not have bad taste, because we're not the only ones who like it. The book was much better, and the movie skipped too many parts. If they added everything that was in the book, the movie would have been better. But then it would have been around three hours. Did anyone else noticed Edward and Bella didn't say I love you any time at all in the whole two hours? Kristen did not play a good Bella, but I knew as soon as I found out who it is. Everyone underestimated Rob, and he ended up carrying the movie very nicely. Not everyone is going to like the books, and not everyone is going to like the movie. Get over it and stop complaining about how terrrible the movie was. The movie was good, but it does not add up to the books. Most of the male characters, Edward, Emmett, Jasper, Carlisle, James, Jacob were attractive and they did well. Especially Jackson Rathbone who played an amazing Jasper. I thought the movie was pretty good, considering the low budget and the bad casting for Bella.
I went and saw it today and although it was a little lower budget than I would expect, I still loved it! Big fan of Twilight!!! I liked that side of Edward in the movie.
i just came back from seeing the movie, a third time! it's really good! and rob's such a hottie.
Why is Kristen Stewart's hair so messy all the time? She is very cute, and she dresses well..but she needs to tone it down on the hair…:(
What is with Robert's hair? Is it supposed to be hot..or is he just lazy?:S
i liked it alot. I would go see it again if someone wanted me to go with them.
Re: && I got a thing for you! – hahaha…..sooooo true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just saw it. it was unintentionally hilarious. so fucking funny.
I'VE SEEN IT TWICE AND PLAN FOR A THIRD TIME!!!!
i hope they change the director coz i don't think she did the movie justice.
YESSSSS! FREAKING AWESOME.
TOTALLY PWNED BOLT.
Re: Mrs Joker – You cannot compare something like the dark knight to twilight. It had a very low budget among alot of other things.
I loved it cuz I love the books….However hire me as your next make-up artist for the next film when the budget is bigger…….I am sure they will get better I just wanted to touch up his neck a few times to match his too white face….I thought the worst bit of acting was when she was in her hospital bed…..that was reallyyyyyy bad….
But loved it anyway……………………..
Re: Ashlee – The book moved fast as well, I mean in a matter of weeks, Bella was ready to die for Edward?
The movie moved even faster.
What do you expect then every mormon in America has been lined up all week.
I went into the theater with mixed view points on what the movie would be like. Let me tell you this, it turned out to be the most incredible experience! I was not expecting it to be so good. I actually went with about 14 friends, some had not even read the books and they loved it as well. Some of the elderly critics said that the effects were not that great so I was expecting them to be corny…they weren't at all. They also said the meadow scene was lacking, but I thought it was absolutely amazing! I watched in astonishment as my favorite book was brought to life on the big screen and the only thing I want is more!! The acting was incredible…you could actually feel Edwards torment in Rob's emotions. Kristen was a fantastic Bella, perfect in every way. I feel so lucky to have been able to see this movie and I will see it over and over again! Twilight has become a household name and this movie just reinforces all the hype!!!
I guess fame is far too trivial to these slackers who showed up to a much music event looking completely pouty and looked really hard done by to be there, showing very little appreciaton to the fans who had waited hours to see them..Robert looked high and like he hadnt washed in a week..he couldnt even answer simple questions..duhhhhhh..and Kristen sits there scowling..they better enjoy their 15 min of fame and show a little gratitude to the fans who somehow fidn them appealing..cuz they will be old news one day and no one will want to interview them and they just might start missing the adoration. Lose the la la land attitude and it is also beyond me why Robert is getting any attention..he looks like he needs to shower and is not that attractive..im sure his obsessors feel but really people..save your adoration for those who actually appreciate it..these spoiled brats do not.
No freakin way. Damn those fangirls.
It was a good movie and I'm glad it's getting the box office stats to back this up!
hell yeahh… =]
lmao.
jasper's face during the whole movie was very intersting…
emmett was as hot a fck.
robert's facial expressions in the beginning was hilarious.
carlisle is hottt.
jacob was okay. i gotta say, the long hair is kinda ugly.
he looked better in Shark boy and Lava Girl…
~Twilighter
Perez, why do you always have to take sides. If there is a beautiful girl next to the hunk you always diminish her. Oh yeah! Right, you are gay! Sorry!
Okay Okay, the book IS better then the movie is, but are you surprised? ALL movies based off of books are never better then the actual books….
However, for a movie based off of a book, it's good.
Yes, it's low budget….and apparently alot of stupid people don't like low budget…but still…
It did leave out some important stuff…but they may make up for that in the next movie. They didn't know how well this one was going to be while filming it and everything….so they just took their chances…
At first I didn't like Kristen as Bella either, but she grew on me and now I like her. Rob plays an amazing Edward, I think.
The rest of the cast was brilliant too!
I dunno, I always seem to think so much differently from everyone else out there… =/
I hate the amount of youngsters there are that are fans of it though…I don't know, I'm an older fan and I thought it was okay. Then again, I always love Indie films. I hate mainstream, except for a very small amount of select films…so maybe that's why…
Who knows.
The movie is good. It'd be better I'm sure if I wasn't such a mega fan of the books…
Perhaps the 2nd one will get better? As long as it doesn't get worse like the Harry Potter films do….
That chick looks like Clarissa Explains It All…. whatever her name is. Melissa Joan Heart or whatever? Something like that. but yeah, anyway, she looks like her.
btw… this movie will not make that much. Anyone that went to see it, from what I heard, said it SUCKED. It's all hype. I can't wait for it to go away.
