      Holy crap, what was with the horrible sound throughout the whole show????
      Christina, Mariah, and Beyonce let the backup tracks do most of the singing!
      Then when they did try to sing, it seemed like the mics weren't all the way up.
      The instrumental parts would come on real loud, but when they tried to sing, you could hardly hear them.

      Surprisingly Miley Cyrus and Kanye West were the only energetic, memorable performances of the night. With honorable mention to Beyonce's dance movin show [not quite sure if the vocals where live, I'm going to go with a no on that one]. Taylor, Jonas, Pink, Rihanna, and even Alicia Keys lacked any energy or creative spunk. Really dull, slow ballads. Eh.

      And what was with Christina Aguilera's voice? It was seriously deep. Homegirl needs to lay off the smokes or booze.

      I loved Annie Lennox, Sarah and Pink and the song with Alicia Keys, Latifah and Kathleen Battle was the best I've seen on any award show for a verrrrrrrrry long time.
      I thought the first song PCD did was odd and the slow Rehab thing that Rihanna did with all that metal and black on … I don't know, the beat of the song didn't really follow with the costume. I kinda kept expecting her to break out with Rhythm Nation.
      And I do have to agree with everyone else, I didn't like the Single Ladies song that Beyonce/Sasha Fierce does at first, but it does kinda grow on you

      Christina aguilera looked lost on stage, Rihanna gave the most boring performances of the night, jimmy Kimmel was horrible, The Jonas brothers need to stop mumbling there words when they sing because it doesn't help there crappy voices, Beyonce just needs to give up and take her split personality Sasha Fierce with her and Chris brown needs to stop acting like he is gods gift. The only good things about the show was Alicia Keys,sarah mclachlan performance's and Taylor Swift I gained much respect for the girl this year she is a great performer and she tells it like it is.

      I thought they were alright. Not as bad as the MTV music awards. New Kids rocked it out though. I give them credit, still doin the damn thang after all these years. They have like 20 years on some of those other performers, and still put on a better show! Have to give them credit! Other than that, Jimmy Kimmel was the other highlight of the night for me, I wish he had more face time. The music industry sucks major ass right now.       I did not watch it, but I checked the website for the names of the nominees and the performers. I was shocked that Katy Perry was not in this award show. Her hit single "I Kissed a Girl" definitely should have been recognized in a prestigious award show that honors new and influential American artists.
      I have feeling it's because of the homosexual undertones in the song that prevented her from being nominated. It's quite sad really. It goes to show the world is still not yet comfortable with homosexuality. It is sad indeed.

      Sarah McLachlan!!!
      That made my night. Her voice is so beautiful and pure. She is a lyrical genius. I think the fact that they had her sing at the show was wonderful. That introduced her to a whole new generation with the young kids watching. Hopefully they see what we have always loved about her. There isn't one song of hers that I don't love. Of course they would have chosen Angel, Building a Mystery, or Adia to sing because they are the most played/commercial songs but she can do no wrong. Although Fumbling Towards Ecstasy is my favorite album. I like the oldies. Great choice going with Sarah.

Jimmy Kimmel obviously can't read his teleprompter or just can't add… he said 20 years ago in 1998 the world witnessed the phenomenon that was New Kids while girls were clutching glo-worms in their beds (or something to that effect). It should have been 1988, hence the 20 years.
