Wow…I have to say that I absolutely loved that review. Melanie Reid hit the nail square on the head! I have thought exactly the same thing for a long time now…not only about Kidman, but also as Melanie mentions, Gweneth Paltrow and Keira Knightly. They're are THE most overrated actresses in the world.

This reviewer is on crack… Kidman is a fantastic actress and there's no proof whatsoever that she is the "kiss of death" to movies. Even though she says she isn't, it seems the reviewer is jealous of Nicole and has some sort of vendetta.
To be fair - that's only ONE review but I do agree with it.
Kidman is, as Kathy Griffin says, "A Hangar" for nice wardrobe and pretty sets but as she insists on practicing her "Bambi Caught in the Headlights" school of acting, she turned me off ages ago. However, I love the Baz and will probably go see the movie for him and the leading man. I will undoubtedly leave the theatre bitching about Kidman again but I will take the risk and make up my own mind…

I TOTALLY AGREE. I've never enjoyed her in any role she's played, and two movies come to mind that I believe she's singlehandedly ruined: Margot at the Wedding and Fur: an Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus. Both would've been AMAZING films without her, but her wide-eyed, soft-spoken "acting" isn't impressing anybody, or at least me. When I see her in anything, I know she's ACTING, which is a huge distraction.

Wait a minute - so you completely fail to mention the fact that the Twilight movie has gotten almost completely negative reviews (I'm guessing because YOU liked it) but you find ONE article condemning Nicole's body of work, as opposed to her actual performance in the movie, and you post THAT? wow, that woman has a MASSIVE chip on her shoulder! her writing is utterly atrocious and filled with bitterness; it's impossible to take her seriously (like you perez, lol). i'll definitely be seeing the film, i'm interested in the history, the cinematography of a gorgeous country, and because i love Nicole Kidman.

That review was over-the-top vicious. Melanie Reid sounds like a crazy bitch with a personal agenda. Nicole Kidman has many, many best actress awards, including an oscar, a BAFTA, and three golden globes. Yet the reviewer is talking about her like she's fricking Tara Reid. Total b.s.! i saw it last night and it was fucking amazing. baz is a genius and so what if it's a flop in america. as an australian it made me very proud. i'm sure that the majority of americans, who are small minded fucks have no interest in watching a film that focuses heavily on aboriginal australians. but if you lived here (and were not fucking racist) you would be very proud of how far australia has come in terms of it's policies towards them.
it's a good movie god dammit and i will buy it when it comes out on dvd. on actor doesn't make a fucking movie. shit!
