Batman Is Going to Die!

On Wednesday, Batman's ultimate fate will be revealed in the latest issue of DC Comic's Batman.
Some have speculated that the caped crusader will suffer a horrific end when his sidekick, Robin, hops over to "the dark side" and destroys him in a terrible betrayal.
Others guess that he'll simply retire from his duties.
There's also buzz that he maybe killed by a mystery villain known as the Black Glove.
We're dying to know how Batman is going to be off'd AND who his replacement will be!

The thing I hate about comic franchises is the switching of authors which usually results in the destruction of things that were established. Now that Batman's once again prominent in pop culture, I doubt they're going to let him stay dead. Too many people want to date rape that storyline.

Bruce Wayne is no longer Batman in the comic books and hasn't been for some years…..Bane broke Bruce Wayne's back and confined him to a wheel chair bringing about someone else to carry on the Batman persona….Someone please correct me though if they some how miraculously found a cure for paralysis in one of the issues and Bruce Wayne stepped out of the wheelchair and back into the Bat Suit.

Bruce Wayne will either retire / be forced to retire / go into hiding. He will be replaced by Dick Grayson, the first Robin, currently known as Nightwing. In the comics, Bruce Wayne is now in his early 40s, the first Robin, Dick Grayson is in his mid-to-late 20s and the current Robin, Tim Drake is about 15.
Both Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson became superheroes after they watched their parents being killed by criminals (Bruce's by a mugger, Dick's by the mob). Tim's parents have been killed since he became Robin, and he has now been officially adopted by Bruce Wayne.
Also of note is that this month's issues of Nightwing and Robin comics are going to be their last (so one of them will definitely become Batman for the forseeable future, until the inevitable return of Bruce Wayne).
I think they might actually do it, a la Captain America.

This has nothing to do with the Universe that the current batman movies are based on. In the Frank Miller Verse there is no Robin
Firstly, people are clearly confused because of the picture. Its the comic book, you know, the one that the movies were BASED on…
Secondly, they can't keep running this forever and ever and ever. All good things must come to an end.
Thirdly, there has been no talk about a third movie although its pretty much a forgone conclusion that the studios will beg for a third after the success of the second. Depends on whether or not Nolan gives a damn. If this was Verbinski then totally, he'd say there was another movie even if nothing had been confirmed.
Finally, if there is another movie and Robin is in it, I wouldn't bother.
