Koppel Out Of Another Job

As we mentioned earlier this year, Ted Koppel has been making in-depth documentaries for the Discovery Channel since January 2006, when he left ABC.
The former Nightline anchor would be appearing on both BBC America and BBC World News. But, Koppel and the Discovery network will now be parting ways before the end of Koppel's contract.
What happened????
Koppel has stated that the news docs he's been making are expensive and that "it has long been clear that neither of us is interested in an extension of the current contract."
Ouch!
His current contract with Discovery was supposed to end next May.
