"Operation Once in a lifetime is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization created to make the dreams of U.S. soldiers come true. The dream of a soldier is to come home alive, unwounded, to train safe, to love his country, his unit and his family. However being a soldier is not easy; it is filled with hardship, not just physically or emotionally, but financially.
Operation Once in a Lifetime was created by a soldier to help other soldiers; a soldier knows what a soldier needs and a soldier knows what a soldier does not need. A soldier does not need to worry about providing beds for his kids, worrying if his electricity will still be on when he goes home or if his house will be foreclosed on when serving his/her country. A soldier needs a program that will provide free financial assistance regardless of his rank, race, branch of service, physical condition or his deployment status. A soldier needs a program that can help make a life altering contribution when he is in his/her greatest need; Operation Once in a Lifetime is that program."

So if I voluntarily offer to go kill people and ruin lives (and possibly kill myself or ruin my own life, too) I can have special perks as well? Well sign me right up.
does anyone do these??
seriously.
Well, no offence, but don't they get a decent pay? What do they need free financial assistance for?
fuck the troops
Re: Than Thou –
That ain't gunna happen. You don't have the balls.
well i think that we need to support our troops specially when they come home. do u kno how many homeless vets there are? afflicted from war!!!!
I am so glad this program exists. What is not being reported in the media, but is well-known by those who keep an eye on the "adoption industry" is that many soldier's cannot afford to raise their children and their wives are surrendering their newborn children to adoption. This even means second and third children. Poverty is forcing them to. Is this tragedy really what we want for our soldiers? Being a soldier means a steady income, but often not an income high enough to feed a family, especially if your wife cannot find work or daycare so she can go out to work.
do you people realize many of these soldiers aren't full time soldiers and they come back without a job. the pay isn't that great when you may have been dependent on a higher paying jib, alot of soldiers take a pay cut while on deployment. remember, these soldiers are protecting YOUR freedoms and ricking THEIR live!!
OOOOOOHHHH you mean make their wishes come true while they're in Iraq killing innocent citizens and raising the orphan count?
Re: FAG-HAG – what about the innocent child that are killed by iraqi citizens?? you should really educate yourself better befor making stupid comments, and ehrn the next terrrorist attack happens don't ask for any help from the government
I'm sorry but my husband is a soldier and this is not only for him, but his family also. We are always running around moving, I am unable to successfully achieve a steady job, and sadly the troops do not get paid a lot. This is just standard protection for people that protect you, and your right to say what you did. My husband, and any other soldier or service personal out there is doing more for this country then you ever will! So this holiday season, when you have your family around and your enjoying yourself, just keep in mind the service men and women over there who are underpaid, overworked, lonely, and scared this holiday season.
Someone please tell me how the 4, 270 Americans who've been killed in Iraq were fighting for my rights and freedoms. It was all about oil and power and evil.
