For some time now, rumors have been circulating that Mariah Carey is finally preggers.
But, the recent newlywed wants us to believe otherwise!
Mimi will be on Ellen DeGeneres' show this afternoon, pre-taped yesterday. And, in her often comical way, Ellen tries to get Carey to spill any potential baby news.
So what does Ellen do?
She offers Mimi some champagne!!!
However, Mimi say's she doesn't want any because it's fattening, not because she's pregnant.
Ellen said, "Let's just toast with Champagne," and reaches for some bubbly and flutes.
To which Mimi said, "It's just fattening. This is peer pressure!"
But after Ellen persisted, the two clinked glasses, and then Carey PRETENDED to drink!!!
To which Ellen said, "You're pregnant!"
Though Mimi insists, "No, no, no. We will let you know when we're going to have a family."
Yea, ok. So why didn't she drink the champagne? Why refuse the bubbly?
Mimi says, "It's too early for me. I only drink after 3 p.m."

I agree with Duckie; it's bad manners (and very high-schoolish) to try and force someone to drink alcohol. I am in recovery and have 13 years sobriety. Some people know, some don't. At events such as my husband's annual company Christmas party, I am constantly dodging drinks. It's a real pain-in-the-ass. If someone says they don't want a drink, just believe them!

If she is pregnant she's probably waiting until the end of the first trimester like a lot of women do. Most miscarriages happen during the first trimester, so she'll probably announce when she's into her 2nd trimester or she may pull a J Lo or a Christina. You can have a glass of champagne when you're pregnant. I hate when people get all pregnancy-nazi… giving up chocolate, caffeine, cold cuts, and the occasional drink. Please, people, please. Our parents smoked, drank, didn't wear seat belts, didn't put us in car seats, let us walk around with glass bottles (until we were three), didn't breast feed, and shot us up with thousands of vaccines including those tainted with thimerasol. (Those of us who are children of the 70s, 80s, and prior!). And guess the fuck what? There are MORE allergies today, MORE cases of autism, MORE learning disabilities, MORE cases of pediatric cancers, and overall MORE problems. So stop with this fucking shit that one glass of champs is gonna cause you're baby to self-abort or turn out with some kind of bullshit syndrome.

I m not an alcoholic myself but I know of several former colleagues who were and had said that this constantly being pressed to drink a little bit of alcohol was getting on their nerves - and it really made me, too, angry how at company events some people constantly made remarks on those "not liking" and not wanting to drink any alcohol! As I was the one to arrange for food and beverages, I always had THE SAME AMOUNT of alcoholfree beverages ordered as those containing alcohol and had them placed on 2 separate sections of the buffet tables…I almost NEVER drink any alcohol myself even though I could. I just don t like it!

Thats not correct what you re saying: ANY amount of alcohol during (and even BEFORE) pregnancy is harmful to the MENTAL(!) development of children later on…..the have LOWER IQ, more frequentyl mental illnesses such as ALDS syndrome, are more prone to develop substance abuse later on in life and have a LOWER weight at the date of birth, a.s.o. - You can read a lot of corresponding tstudies on the negative effects of ANY amount of alcohol drinking during pregnancy….and keep in mind: PHYSICIANS are among the HIGHEST percentage of alcoholics themselves! That s why some of them might indeed tell you to not bother about 1 or 2 drinks and give you FALSE information….Don t believe an ALCOHOL-prone doctor!!
