Law & Order Does Heath Ledger

Not surprisingly, Law & Order is ripping one straight from the headlines.
But this time they're doing a thinly veiled plot modeled after the death of Heathus Christ.
A show insider says the script revolves around a successful male actor with a fabulous career and no problem bringing the ladies home.
The character dies of an overdose after leaving a club with a girl, doing a bunch of drugs and having a bunch of sex, and then next thing you know, the model guy is dead.
Hmmm!

It sounds like a typical story line to me.. i don't really associate it with just Heath. It also depends on age.. the story sounds like Law and Order would do it with a possibly younger male in early to mid twenties.. where if they did it with a guy around 30 divorced with one child.. i could see that it is more like the Heath reality. We will have to see how similar they make the relationships in the show than just a drug overdosed actor

law and order, csi, etc do take stories out of the news. BUT, a male actor doing drugs, having sex and dying does NOT have to be about heath ledger. If perez watched the shows and reading the paper he would realize that.
so its ok for them to do an anna nicole type show like the second she died… but people want to throw a shit fit because they waited almost a year for heath? i mean were people just waiting for her to die and to profit off of it? i dont understand how everyone can be so hypocritical! dont get me wrong i was so sad for his family when he died, but how is this any different from the anna nicole episode which was done a lot sooner than a year!!

It's not too soon. Law&Order is a great fucking show in case you've never watched it Perez!!! The purpose of the show is that they do it based on recent and controversial headlines….POINT BEING….it's never too soon.

I do love Law and Order, and the other night I saw an episode that was on course to possibly be about heath, but wasn't… and I actually thought it would be a matter of time before they did portray his story… too soon? absolutely… he wasn't an anna nicole… we actually cared for him as a human… not a tabloid story.

This concept was done on CSI a couple seasons ago. If they "ripped" anything, its from CSI's old episodes.
It's a fairly generic story line I agree, could be about any dead actor. Sounds more like River Phoenix than Heath Ledger though. River O.D'd at a club on heroin (I think) and Heath at home on prescription sleep tablets and anti anxiety drugs. A bit different.

I think they got the basic idea from his death, but for the most part they are going to do their own thing. They also had an episode based off of the Natalee Hollway story, but it was generic enough that you had to know what was even going on with her case to get the parts that were based on her and those that weren't.
