If you missed Rosie O'Donnell's variety show this Wednesday, then you're shit out of luck!
NBC "tested" the show out to see if the audience was interested in Ro and the format, and America responded with a resounding NO.
Rosie Live debuted to disastrous ratings - only 5 million people watched! - and even worse reviews.
O'Donnell herself just posted the following on her blog:

Barbara Walters must be laughing her face off!
And Elizabitch Hasselbeck probably too.
And Star Jones.
And the Osbournes! Ozzie, Sharon, Kelly and Jack have their own reality show - on Fox - debuting next month.

Re: Debaucherina – She never existed. My friend knew people who worked on her daytime talk show when was was known and the Queen of Nice. She told me Rosie was a major bitch and terrorized people who worked on the show. The intern program was even eliminated because Rosie was annoyed by their presence. The only positive about her was that she was genuinely giving and nice to kids.
Why would you cancel something based on ratings from the night before Thanksgiving? People are traveling, boozing or cooking. Who's prioritizing tv?

Alec Baldwin was presenting Rosie O with "something she needed for her show", it was a door.

The variety show can not be redone, we have moved on as a culture.

'all eyes are on them' (the osbornes)-NOT-does anyone even care for the variety show anymore? variety was hurt with donny and marie in the '70's and finally passed away in a painful (but not long) death with the brady variety hour. could they please just let variety rest in somewhyat peace? next thing you know, E! will put on a paris variety show with paris exhibiting all, uhm…..no talent.

Rosie opened the door that allowed you to be on The View, Perez. Where is your gratitude? Wednesday before Thanksgiving is when people are cooking,traveling,or shopping at the grocery store for what they forgot. I missed the first 15 minutes as I was at the store. I enjoyed what I saw but that date didn't allow many celebs that I know love Rosie to appears. Your friend Gloria stuck by her friend, Rosie and Perez YOU should be kinder.
Horrible, horrible show. Everything about it was bad. The acts sucked, the set looked like some closed down theater and really who wants to watch Rosie. She is a fat, angry woman who hates everyone, including herself. If you want a variety show you want happy and fun - not dark and depressing.
i feel bad for Rosie, i liked her when she had a show, i didn't even know it was playing, Pretzel didn't even advertise for her at all, i don't recall seeing any commercials for it, i blame the advertising cause if reached me, i would of given it a chance, don't give up Rosie, go with people that love you and are willing to spend the money on advertising and more then just one chance, i dunno, maybe its just not your time right now, i mean you loved Tom Cruise, and no one likes him anymore, do you still like Tom Cruise? i would slowly ween myself back into tv, like a radio show or something eh? eh?

They didn't even give it a chance…wtf. I like Rosie. I think she's really smart and real. Maybe people just don't tune in for that anymore.
I've always had the feeling that she'll end up killing herself. I don't know why and I certainly wouldn't want anyone to commit suicide, but she seems to be a person who has waaaay too many issues, depression, and bitterness.
Plus she also seems to have a lot of irrational moments. Very passionate.

Rosie has a fan base of straights and gays that is deeply disappointed this didn't get picked up.
They thought it was BAD timing to schedule her special on the day before a holiday when people were indeed doing last-minute stuff, including hitting the road (at as low as $1.50 a gallon for gas now, people did!). If NBC really wanted her to have a TV show, they chould have done her better and waited to schedule it on a non-holiday Thursday night after '30 Rock' than the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I thought the special was a fun, nice change of pace (albeit surreal at times) compared to the over-exploited, reality dreck that prevades too many cable channels now. If I didn't love '30 Rock' and SNL, I'd boycott NBC. By the way, not everyone in the media hated it. An 'Entertainment Weekly' blogger seemed to like it, and especially appreciated Kathy Griffin on it, too.
The 'Fat' and 'Lesbian' comments so often repeated would lead one to think that people had made up their minds about the show before watching it. But having seen the show, I know how bad it was. Try insulting her for more valid reasons. There's plenty of bile on the NBC site as well. I agree that she needs to retire.

I knew her variety show wouldn't work! For a variety show to work, the host has to be likeable. And there is nothing likeable about Rosie and her midget arms. I didn't even bother to watch her variety show, I can't stand her. I came across a station and she was on a talk show, and I cringed and changed the station pronto. I can't stand to see or her, she makes my flesh crawl, and it's sooo not cause she's a lesbian. It's cause she's obnoxious and ugly, who wants to see Rosie host a variety show?! I ama HUGE fan of variety shows and Broadway, generally. I thought Rosie's variety show was just a disaster. The jokes were over-rehearsed and fell flat; the routines were cliche' and boring; the guests tried too hard to make something from nothing; and, overall, it just wasn't very good. The highlight for me was seeing Liza again - and she looked fabulous!
Everything Rosie touches lately turns to doodie. She will someday learn that taking the "high road" pays off and comes full circle. Ellen learned that lessen many years ago and is now described as classy, humorous and respectful of others. Try it, Ro. Again, "classy, humorous and respectful" of others. If not, just go away and be happy with the success you once enjoyed.
